It’s been a struggle trying to find good quality dog food with trustworthy ingredients that my picky Silky Terriers puppies will eat. I tried several options (e.g. The Honest Kitchen, Ziwi Peak, cooked recipes from veterinary nutritionist, etc.) and was frantic because they weren’t eating enough. Thankfully I discovered Vital Essentials freeze dried treats which led me to try this beef entree mini nibs dog food. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that my puppies tend to eat these as treats (they snack on the mini nibs throughout the day) instead of eating a full bowl at mealtime.
Finally something to mix with kibble!
on May 17, 2020
My one year old Husky Mix has become a picky eater and basically snubbed everything I bought to try! She even snubbed Hooman food on occasion! I was about to give up when I realized she really loves freeze dried treats that were a beef/liver flavor! So I thought...hey I wonder if I could mix freeze dried in her kibble to get her to eat it! So I researched and found this on Chewy! She loves it! She gobbles it up Including her kibble! I hope this lasts! Wish the bags were bigger and not so expensive! It will have to be used as a "mix in"! But she will continue to get it until I go broke or quits eating it!
Great add-in to other food

My Havanese would be a picky eater if she had her way. Adding a little of this freeze-dried raw beef to her kibble helps to get her started eating the kibble. It’s pricey, but if you just use it to enhance/enrich the dog’s diet, a bag goes a long way.
Best food discovery this year
on May 12, 2020
This is probably the best food discovery I made in the past year, perhaps ever, to supplement my dog's daily meal and treats. It is high quality, she loves the taste -- I can tell by her enthusiasm -- she will turn away from treats that are so-so. She loves this food as a meal topper too. It seems very quality and just what I wanted to supplement her mostly custom diet.
Love this but so so so expensive

I love this dog food, can't find any alternative with this high of crude protein. The only issue I have is it is so expensive. If anyone has any alternative, please let me know.
Great for training

These treats are small enough to use as training rewards without breaking them in half. They are also dry enough that if you put them in a pocket or treat pouch, they don't stick together or get gooey. My dog loves them, but she's a Lab, so of course she does. The cats like them too.
Pups love it!

I do wish the bags were larger. Having two medium size dogs, these don’t last long. But, I like to add them into their rotation diets and feed 50% with their other foods from time to time.

I have 5 cats and a dog. My dog will eat this as is but normally when I buy freeze dried raw I will crush some up and sprinkle it on top of my cats wet food. The only thing that I don't like about this product is that they are hard to crush up.
GREAT TOPPER FOR LARGE DOGS

LOL can't be the whole meal in my big dogs' household but it sure makes a healthy, super crunchy topper! Trying to move away from bacon, cheese and other super fatty additions. They are hollow puffed up pieces of meat, various sizes of a nickel. Smells like a different version of Rice Krispies cereal. Very little in the bag for that price.
dog food as training treats

These are a good size for training rewards and my dog and cats all love them.
