When my cats are being fussy with their food this will usually do the trick when I add it as a topper.

Both of our cats love it as a topper on their canned cat food.

A colleague of mine suggested these freeze dried toppers. Both my boxers are EXTREMELY picky eaters. I had a 10 day vacation planned and knew I had to figure out something so they would eat while I was away and they were staying at the kennel. So, I have it a try. Caretakers said they ate like champs! I also noticed my Loki’s skin allergies are much better now as well. I’ve tried other brands, but Vital Essential is THE BEST!

Previous order was dark and of a dried meat consistency. Cats loved it. Latest order was pale brown, powdery, and smelled of burned fat.

It is exactly what it claims to be. This is a very good brand if you’re looking for freeze dried kibble or toppers, I recently have switched over.

I ordered this only a month ago maybe and ordered it again and they look completely different. Worries me that the colors and textures are different. The one I just got is the darker color and it looks like dirt…

All 4 of my cats love this stuff. They’ve been eating it for almost a year. I ordered 2 more in august and noticed the packaging was new on top of the color of the product. Its normally a dark brown but this time it was a a light beige. Two of my cats turned their nose and the other two were able to tolerate it. I was upset but let it go cause I know its common for pet food companies to change the quality of the product to profit more. Since two cats still ate it I decide to buy 1 more while I look for a new topper. Turns out I got a bad batch? The color was the same as what I I was used to seeing- brown. First of all, let me say I have a finicky bunch (4 cats). I sprinkle this on some of their meals, which are mostly dry food. Most days they seem to eat it enthusiastically but some other days they seem hesitant. The ingredients seem good. Secondly, I would like to say that this is labelled "Chicken Toppers" and I expected it to be only chicken flavored but when I opened the bag I noticed that it smelled fishy. Then I looked at the ingredients and one of the ingredients is herring oil. So if you have a cat or a dog that does not like fish, please be aware of this because as I said it does smell (and I suppose tastes) slightly fishy. Overall, though, they do eat it most of the time.

My dog and all 7 cats will eat this! I sprinkle a little around the food in the cats bowl. It disappears so they must like it. They can be finicky!

Our Lykoi Kitten loves this Topper. She is happy to eat it dry, but I do add water, because I am always trying to make sure she stays hydrated. She likes it by itself, but I usually add it to her Stella & Chewy’s Freeze-Dried Dinner Morsels. Reapurr gobbles it up every time! We will definitely get this again, and highly recommend it. Vital Essentials products are a big hit in our house. Reapurr and Mom/Dad approved!
