    Quality ingredients, trusted company

    By on

I prefer to make my own pet food, but ensuring that cat food is balanced is a job that feels impossible at times. With autoimmune diseases, I have been finding it difficult to manage my own issues and responsibilities while continuing to make my own pet food. It's a huge process. So I went on a search for brands I could trust and I've been very happy with Vital Essentials brand. There's no filler. My cat loves all of the variety available. The pellet form is easy to pour and hydrate. And the price is reasonable for high quality raw food.

    Cats go CRAZY!

    By on

2 of my 3 cats attack me when I treat them with VE minnows, and the other 1 LOVES the chicken treats. So I gave them some mini nibs this morning and they all gobbled it down and wanted more! Wished it came in larger bags. I may mix this with their Open Farm in the morning, and they can have their Feline Natural for dinner. Happy and healthy babies! By the way, the company website recommends leaving these hard. If you want to hydrate, break up the patties, they soften easier.

    My kitty approves this message

My cat loves this dry. I usually dehydrate the VE patties but give her these dry. I love VE products because of the high quality ingredients they use with no need for added vitamins and minerals. One of the best raw cat product!

    Tasty treat!

    By on

My cats love this dehydrated food! They prefer it dry rather than rehydrating it. I have bought this several times before but the last bag has had large clumps of the food that I’ve had to break apart.

    My cats love them!

I bought these as a snack for my diabetic cats. I have to break up some of the pieces as they are a little long but my sugar kitties love these treats! I will keep buying these.

    Love Vital Essentials Nibs

    By on

Thought that you would get a kick out of these pictures of our 7-month-old Maine Coon kitten, Queen Nefertiti, who loves Vital Essentials Freeze-Dried Raw Chicken & Duck Nibs along with her raw meat diet. These pictures show how much she loves them. She just hears the bag and comes running. She eats them like a treat which compliments her raw pieces of chicken and rabbit along with her ground raw whole Pheasant, whole Quail & whole Rabbit. It also gives her something crunchy to chew on. She weighs 10.5 pounds, all muscle, not an ounce of fat and is 34 inches long from the tip of her tail to the top of her nose. All due to all the raw food she eats.

    5 cats did not eat

too hard. Will not soften even when soaked in water for hours. The dog liked the very hard bits. 5 cats did not.

    Nice product

    By on

The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is a lot of the food nibs are clumped together and I have to break them up.

    Takes forever to rehydrate

    By on

I love the ingredients and my cats loved it but, it takes way too long to rehydrate. The nibs are extremely hard. It took well over 5 minutes (close to 10) for it to fully rehydrate. And all the while I had very hungry meowing cats. I may try the patties instead or sadly I may just have to go with another brand. Rehydrating (with ease) is a big deal breaker for me and these do not have it.

    my cats rated it 3

I have 5 cats and 3 of them will eat this as an in between meals snack. The other 2 will not eat it. ODD because the 2 that won't eat it , are chow hounds and normally will eat anything at all. It seems a good enough product, but it is kinda like a crisp extruded type puffed cereal. I haven't mixed it with water to rehydrate it yet. Interesting product and worth a try if you are looking for a dry food as a treat, or for a change in diet once in a while, that is different from the crap on the market in food stores. It is nice that it has no starches (grain, potato, fillers, fruit, peas/legumes etc) that is why I tried it.
