Crumbly and messy but good ingredients

I want to like VE. And we have bought many of their products. Many dogs seem to not like the nibs so I tried the patties. Dogs seem to prefer the taste of the patties better but they are VERY crumbly so they don't make good training treats. I personally feed raw but buy freeze dried and air dried products to train with. These patties don't fit our needs but they would be a great meal replacement to hydrate in a bowl. I would still recommend!

Please be aware of this food

I never post a review. Although as a responsible pet parent it is my duty to let other pet parents know about this food. For some reason dogs are attracted to the smell of those patties, but once I added water and saw what those patties contain I was really upset. If you have a small size dog this food is a big health hazard. I will need to toss it to garbage because I don't think it's ethical for me to donate this food to local shelter. Save your money and your furry baby. I am not bashing on this company. There are few items that I purchase on a regular basis such as beef liver treats or chicken hearts which are single ingredient and you can acctually see what you are feeding your furry baby, which is not the case with Duck Dinner Patties YUKKKYY

Variety for Long Life

I am blessed to have two small terriers who embrace a wide variety of recall-free brands and flavors, including this one. I serve a different one at each meal as we cycle through 20+ varieties every week. I believe that this helps reduce risk of nutrient deficiency or possible toxic overload from any one source.

My pit bull loves them

I’ve tried all raw patty brands that chewy offers for duck and this one is the best for my dog. Very happy it , the ingredients & that it’s made in usa.

Fewer duck patties for your $

My dogs love the duck patties as a supplement to their high quality kibble. But I am disappointed that the package weight has shrunk to 14 oz, used to be 16 oz. if you have ordered these in the past as I have, you know that the package price has remained more or less the same. If the price of making this product has risen, I’d rather pay more for a 16 oz package than try to create the impression that the price hasn’t gone up by reducing the weight.

nutritious food

We purchased a new puppy a few weeks ago and the breeder had the puppy on VE Vital Essentials Duck Patties along with other puppy food. Our chihuahua loves the shredded patties and is doing well on it.

Great dog food

My Jack Russell Terrier really loves this freeze dried raw Duck. They are round discs about the size of a hockey puck. They crumble very easily. She devours the food licking the bowl clean. Also no one delivers faster than Chewy.

Great for allergies

Ordered this and while the patties were half dust, that's to be expected, one of my dogs is allergic to Chicken, Beef, Turkey, Salmon, Rabbit, Most fruits and veggies. This is literally the only food out there that I don't have to make from scratch, (and nulo 95% duck). It fills her up, her coat and body condition are amazing, and we love the convenience of this food, I wish it were a tad lower since it's ALL she can eat. Highly recommended!
