How long will this 1 lb bag last to feed my
95 lb German Shepherd? how many cups is a serving?
Answer by • May 01, 2019
The longevity of the bag depends on the daily feed recommended based on your dog's weight. Premium brand dog foods are made with real ingredients that allow your dog to absorb nutrients efficiently. This helps the food last longer and prevents your dog from overfeeding. There are approximately 3-4 cups depending on volume.
How big are are one of the nibs?
Answer by • Feb 26, 2019
The mini nibs are approximately the size of a blueberry.
I see offal, meat and no bone. So this does not do a 80/10/5/5 % mix of muscle meat, bone, liver and other secreeding organs?
Can you provide the % of the meat liver and kidney?
Answer by • Mar 28, 2018
Vital Essentials follows the Alpha Prey Model diet, which consists of 45% muscle meat, 45% organs, and 10% bone and blood.
How many OZ in mini nib bag I have 5 dogs under 12 lbs
Answer by • Aug 13, 2019
There is approximately 15.9 ounces in the 1 pound bag.
My Golden pup will be a year old Dec. 2nd - She is growing well and has finally accepted a bit of moisture with her kibble. I place a handfull of the freeze dried beef with kibble in her bowl, then add a small amount of hot water - let it sit for a few minutes, and then stir it up. She devours it eagerly.

Not bad
I wish it weren't so processed. Ultimately if you want to go raw the right way it's alot of time and cost. Although the purchased food is easier; it's not cheaper. It's nice if you need a time saver - otherwise do it yourselfm

What happened Vital Essentials
Have to say that I had used this product exclusively for training my Australian cattle dog last year and over the winter months we took a break from this treat to try other things, and I was sad to see that they had changed their volumes as you can no longer get a 16 ounce bag - their volume decreased and price increased. I ordered the largest bag they sold as I used to get the 16 oz bag which was huge and lasted a long time - to me the product looks different, smells different- seems a harder texture and my dog isn’t as crazy about the treats as she used to be, it could be that she’s outgrown this particular treat or maybe no longer likes it, but I find it odd that vital essentials changed their packaging changed their volume and raised the price makes me wonder what else they might have cut corners on I won’t be buying this again will find other treats that she likes. I also bought other flavors such as the rabbit and again the product just looks/feels/smells different compared to the last time I bought it in the winter. Luna was not impressed!

Great for rewards and training
I love the quality of Vital Essentials and really like their mini nibs. I use them as a reward for my dogs jumping up into their crates and in the car and for training as they're small and don't add a lot of calories given they're made of freeze dried beef. The company recently changed their packaging. I preferred the way it was before as it seemed less bulky and was easier to access on the side of a crate in my car. Highly recommend!

Review based on false claim of mini-nibs. THEY ARE NOT MINI
I was getting VE beef mini nibs in the old package which had very small nibs and he ate those with no problem. They discontinued that. I thought this was identical but it's not. These nibs are much much bigger (nothing mini about them) and hard as a rock. My dog has tiny, deformed teeth and doesn't really chew. I've been mixing a little hamburger with it to get him to eat but now he's pooping totally undigested nibs and acts like he's starving all the time. He won't touch it if I moisten it, even with bone broth. Right now, I can't find an affordable raw food that doesn't have a bunch of veggies, seeds etc so I may have to reluctantly stick with this if I can find a way to get him to eat and digest it. I guess I'm going to have to pulse it in the food processor to break it up into smaller pieces that maybe he can digest. Anyway, the ingredients are great but I wish they would make true mini-nibs again. I also bought turkey mini nibs and they have the same problem, very large and hard as a rock. Very disappointed in VE :( I may have to give up on raw.

They love!
Both dogs really like the raw, freeze dried food and although it's kinda pricey, it is better for them, I'm sure.

Too expensive
These are great for training treats. I thought the price for the 16 oz bag. But there seemed to be more than a 1/8 reduction in quantity in the new 14 oz bag. Maybe the bag is heavier than the prior plastic bag? Too expensive now for the quantity.
