Minnows are a hit with my kitty!

By Guardian on Jan 6, 2018

I wasn't sure my cat would like these; he surprises me sometimes. So far he has liked all the products I've ordered by VitalCat. He's tried the chicken mini nibs, the turkey patties, and these minnows and goes crazy for them equally. My cat will not touch most treats. He loves hunting and eating bugs and I think these happen to be fairly similar in texture. Crunchy and light! At first he didn't realize the first minnow was something to eat, and kind of batted at it. He was starting to walk away, uninterested, when the smell seemed to suddenly catch his attention, and he snapped back over to devour it. That being said, the odor is not strong since the fish are dry. They keep him busy for some time, too. … more

One Kitty Likes, the Other Won't Touch

By Kenzie on Dec 30, 2017

I've been trying different "healthy" treats for my two kitties whenever I have to order their cat food to replace their old favorite Temptations and these were their 4th taste test. My big boy Kit Kat ate them just fine, but he pretty much eats anything you put in front of him. My big boy Kit Kat ate them just fine, but he pretty much eats anything you put in front of him. On the other hand, my picky cat Milo refused to eat these at all. They are a little creepy since they are literally just freeze-dried fish but that's also what's nice about them, they're definitely not some slaughterhouse meat, it's a fish that you can visually see. It was 50/50 for my boys but one of them is very finicky. … more

  • my cat will eat it... but does not love it

My cat has always had temptation treats and so I decided to try a more natural treat but my cat doesn't seem to like this too much... She will eat it but she doesn't go crazy for it.

  • Well it should have been a hit.

I have 3 cats and thought this would be a winner but I got 3 paws down. My dog however thinks they make great sprinkles on top of her dinner.

  • Great concept.

I've got a strange boy. He loves the rabbit bites from this brand but was utterly baffled by these minnows! He'd chew at it but then repeatedly spit it back out so unfortunately he isn't a fan. However I have plenty of friends to choose from to gift this bag to and I'm sure they'll appreciate them much more than my weirdo kitten!

  • My cat loves it but sometimes he throws up after eating it

The minnows are delicious. My ragdoll seems to love it. However, sometimes this treat makes him vomit. Not gonna purchase this treat anymore.

  • it's not for the squemish!

My daughter recommended this product because her cats were crazy about it. My first reaction upon seeing the product in person was "gross". There's just something about dead fish eyes that makes me queasy. Yes, I admit to being a wimp.I found it difficult to handle them. Not all of my cats liked them. The youngest, not yet a year, thought it was a toy and batted it all around. The oldest, a feral who has been living in my yard for more than 10 years, loved them. My other three were somewhat indifferent.

  • Only 1 out of 4 Cats Approved

I'm a little disappointed - I was hoping this would be a big hit in my household. I have four cats, and only one of them likes these treats. The others sniff and walk away, so maybe I have some finicky cats. The one cat liked these so much he chewed open the bag and had a feast (lol). I now keep the rest in a food storage container. Probably won't buy again, but at least they won't go to waste!

  • Minnows

My cats will eat a bite or two but I have to break them up into smaller pieces. I don't know if my cats are just picky or what but they won't eat all the pieces. I don't think they are a fan of the minnows. =(
