Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time. 1. Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days. 2. Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days. 3. Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days. 4. Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.
For some reason, the pork is my cat's favorite food. I switch proteins every other bag, but he gets more excited about the pork mini nibs. The crunchy texture keeps his teeth clean. His coat is shiney and soft. He's very healthy at an ideal weight. Cats are obligate carnivores so my preference is to feed them raw. Freeze-dried is a little more expensive but worth the convenience for me. This is a great company that manufactures a high quality product.
I bought several flavors of Vital Cat mini nibs to see which flavors my Sphynx favors. I hadn't even had a chance to open any. I had opened the box and left them on the counter. My kitten was so impressed by the smell of the pork nibs that even came through the bag that he attempted to chomp his way into the bag. He nearly made his way through in those 15 minutes I left him in the kitchen. I had to put it in a different bag because it was very aerated by that point. Now whenever I fill his dry food bowl he tries to consume every bit in one breath. We're huge fans of Vital Cat overall, but I'm pretty certain I could train Bruce to be skilled assassin if given Vital Cat pork nibs as motivation.
I have a Maine Coone. I never know what he will eat on any given day. I gave him these without a topper, and he ate it. He meows for it when I get it out. The ingredients are awesome. I have tried numerous freeze dried flavors, and he likes pork the best. I have tried an other brand of freeze dried pork, and he likes it. However, this is his favorite so far. It's the only one he will eat without a topper.
My cat likes these pork mini nibs. She is allergic to most foods, but pork is OK for her. I only use them on occasion when we are out of town.
If I soak the nibs long enough to soften them up, then mix in with another protein (turkey or chicken patty) my cat will eat them. But he is not crazy about them. He prefers the pork patties which were not available.
One of my cats LOVES pork, so I'm so glad to have found this food. The nibs are small enough to fit into his puzzle toys. Because this is food is so lightweight and calorie dense, I've also added a couple of bags to my emergency kit.
All 3 kitties love this! Even my super finicky girl likes them too.
I think our cats like it, if I give some to them during the day, they won’t eat it, but I have noticed the only time they eat it is at night when we are sleeping, I guess it is because I don’t put anything else down crunchy for them. The only complaint I have is that some of the pieces are way too big for my cats to eat on, so I have to cut them into bite size pieces. I wish the company would make the pieces like regular kibble size, cats would enjoy it more, plus they would think it’s their regular kibble. Other then me having to cut into pieces they only seem to eat it at night time.
My cat hated this product . She sniffed it and walked away. I tried several times with the same results
I don’t think it would be fair for me to give less than 4 stars just because my extremely picky cat wouldn’t eat it. She did sniff and give a couple licks before turning her back on it completely, so some credit is due there. I would say if your cat isn’t particular about their food then definitely go for it!
