    Cats love, but smells rancid

    By on

When I opened the bag, it smelled like really rancid oil. Maybe that is how freeze dried duck smells? I give my cats only all natural treats, and I've used other duck products before that didn't smell rancid. There's no oil added to smell rancid. My three cats were very excited as I broke open the bag first time. I was very hesitant to give it to them, and figured if the product was indeed rancid, they wouldn't eat it. But all 3 did, and I gave them just 3 pieces each in case it was going to make them sick. That went okay, and I've given to them two more times with no throwing up. Two times, I called the company's 800-number on the bag to ask them if the smell is normal, and the phone just rings When I opened the bag, it smelled like really rancid oil. I'd give it 5 stars if not for being concerned about the rancid smell. … more

    Smells Bad

    By on

Initially the cat gobbled the treats. Then he would not go near them. No amount of persuasion will entice him to go near them. They have a really horrible smell.. Is this normal ?

    cats didn't approve

Our normal freeze dried duck treats are out of stock. So I decided to try these. Have tried 3 times, cats will not eat them. Not sure why.

HOW TO ENTICE YOUR RESTRICTED DIET CAT TO EAT HIS WET FOOD

    By on

If your cat won't eat limited diet wet foods, try mixing a few of these in with the food. Flavors do differ, so try a few types.

Sounded so good, but cats don't like

    By on

This treat has no appreciable scent. Maybe that's why all 4 of my cats turn their noses up at it. Most of the pieces are also very hard. I broke them up, but was still thinking the cats could break their teeth on them. Will stick to other freeze-dried products.

    Perfect for Rx food kitty

    By on

My cat is on a prescription food diet due to inflammatory bowel. The key thing with prescription food diets is to only feed them a single protein - in my cat's case, duck. It's hard to find duck-only treats with no chicken fillers. This one worked perfectly, my cat loved it as something new, and it never made him sick at all.
