Was hopeful for something new. But this food has a horrible smell, they took one sniff and walked away. Honestly made me gag.... We don't recommend this canned food!!

    Sadly disappointed

I have an entire case of food my cats won't eat. Even more surprising is the feral cats I feed won't touch it either. Adding insult to injury...it REALLY smells bad! Oh, well, lesson learned.

    Leap of Faith, this one...

...then again, with pentobarbital allegedly found in some commercial pet foods, it makes one wonders. Now, for this food, I like the choice of proteins. My cat used to go crazy for another brand's Hoki wet food, but it is no longer on the market, so I was pretty excited about founding this one. On the positive, Hoki and Ovine plasma are great proteins, Brewers yeast is said to be great for flea prevention and Organic selenium I hope is better than Sodium Selenite and equal to Selenium Yeast which is considered safer in Holistic circles, but I don't know that one. I also like that it doesn't have veggies, fruits and specially, no peas, potato, sweet potatoes etc. When I opened the can the familiar ...then again, with pentobarbital allegedly found in some commercial pet foods, it makes one wonders. I also like that it doesn't have veggies, fruits and specially, no peas, potato, sweet potatoes etc. When I opened the can the familiar strong Hoki odor came up, but less intense than my previous experiences. My cat sniffs, leaves, comes back and eventually eats it so he is not thrilled, but he is like that with most foods. What I don't like and my cat apparently concurs, is the amount of binding agents used. Agar Agar, Cassia, Guar Gum and free flow additive which is used is some foods for humans. It's a tough decision. Price is competitive and I will try Kangaroo or Brushtail, just to get him out of the chicken and usual proteins. In my opinion, the pros are greater than the cons. … more

    Disgusting food

    By on

My cats have severe food allergies, so I’m always looking for unique proteins. I like this brand, my cats like the boar, kangaroo, and goat. I was excited to see a fish based food in a smaller can. This food was so gross that it made me a little queasy and my cats wouldn’t go near it. I’d recommend this brand, but not this specific protein.
