The WALKABOUT Dog & Cat Knee Brace is designed to help your fur-iend heal after a knee injury. Compatible with a standard chest halter, this made-in-the-USA, neoprene brace is suitable for canine or feline friends suffering from minor to major joint issues—whether caused by overuse, cranial cruciate ligament tears, dislocating the patella or arthritis. It works by keeping your BFF’s joint compressed to reduce inflammation. The extra stability gives the joint a chance to heal and an opportunity for your best buddy to bounce back.

The Velcro that is attached to the belt that goes around the back pulled away and rendered the leg brace unusable.
We bought for a 13 yr old Speagle (Spaniel Beagle Mix) that tore an ACL. Small brace didn't fit for a darn. Useless. Too big on the upper leg. Fit well below the knee.
This brace would not work on my dog. I could not get it to come up high enough over the
So far so good. Fits well. We'll see if it helps. My only issue so far is you ABSOLUTELY need to use this with a harness to keep it in position and stabilized so order one of you don't have one. I wish that was more clear when ordering. I honestly thought it came with a harness but apparently i didn't read the description in it's entirely.
I had low expectations for this. I was desperate as my French Britney is 10 years old and has a torn ligament on both back legs. The right being worse. Anti inflammatory and joint supplements help but, without VERY expensive surgery this was my last hope for help. What arrived was what looked liked a neoprene bottle cooley with some velcro straps attached. I thought they couldn't be serious for selling this for the price I paid. Once I put it on her I noticed a difference right away. Her leg didn't shake anymore. She hasn't limped once since. She can manage walks much more easily. Sizing is key. It fits her very snug and if I had ordered one size up it probably would be useless. At first I didn't need the back strap as her hair was long and prevented the butt strap from sliding off. Once she was groomed it slid off all the time (esp when she rolled) Now all pieces work together perfectly. I really can't figure it out. It all looks too skimpy and simple to work so well. I only hope it might actually heal her condition. One major concern...I've seen three Vets for her torn ligaments and not one ever even mentioned these existed. Strange to me.
Measured my dog twice before ordering after reading reviews. Bought large for my Shepherd per sizing chart. Straps keep riding up onto his male parts and the brace kept sliding off when he bent his leg. Yes, I bought the harness too. Thinking he needs a larger one or a different style.
My dog tore his CCL and was limping until I bought him this brace. I’ve seen improvements in his movement (not holding his bad knee in the air that much) but I thought the product was going to be sturdier. He is able to pull it off at night and I have to constantly readjust it
This is the first knee brace I've purchased and I wasn't sure if my dog would wear it or if it would help. So, I compared inexpensive, middle priced, and very expensive braces. I chose the WalkAbout brace because I wanted one that seemed like it would be effective, but not break the bank if my pup wouldn't wear it, or if it didn't seem to help. Good decision to get this one. It's pretty easy to put on (although I make sure to be gentle with her injured knee) and seems to help. Once it's on, my pup doesn't really seem to notice it. It stays in place well too. It wraps around her knee like it should when she's standing. Then it moves further down around her lower leg when she lays down so it's not uncomfortable for her. The size chart and measurements helped me get exactly the right size. Just be sure to select the correct side, left or right knee. The strap is included and keeps the brace in place. This is the only product I found that includes the strap which is a necessity. More expensive braces required the strap to be purchased separately. Inexpensive braces didn't offer straps as part of the purchase and no straps were available for purchase. If your dog has a knee injury, I recommend this brace.
When I first got this it seemed perfect, however, by the end of the day I understood the other reviews The actual knee brace can be tightened with a little Velcro but trying to keep the back straps from falling is impossible and I've tried several different harnesses and adjusting the back straps of the brace. It still won't stay put because they are too close to the slope leading to the tail and the connecting straps don't connect around the body well. Because I want to try to avoid surgery on an 8y.o. service dog I'm going to have to find a way to fix it.
I tried to put this on my dog(XS) and it just swallows her. The manufacture made it about a size too large. I have Chihuahuas and this would fit a rat terrier. (Med. size dog) The materials seem to be good /comfortable quality. Chewy was very good about sending it quickly! Thank You!
