Kind of disappointed..
By Kaela on Feb 3, 2019
I always like to give things a fair chance and I rate items based off of five factors. Cost, Quality, User Friendliness, Customer Service, and my experience. To start out, I ordered this cage a few months ago when I rescued a pair of young rats from the snake food bin. Before this cage they were living in a make shift play pen and zip tie created cage. I have a very small room, and this is why I assumed this cage would be great for my boys because it is vertical and still roomy on the inside. The price was great, so one star for that, and also another star for the quality of the materials. It is very easily cleaned, the wire is sturdy for the most part and the bottom is very solid and high to I always like to give things a fair chance and I rate items based off of five factors. It is very easily cleaned, the wire is sturdy for the most part and the bottom is very solid and high to keep the mess in. Where it goes south is the build process. It took me and two of my sisters to put the thing together! One holding the sides we had already 'connected' because it would fold in on itself every chance it got. Eventually we ended up zip tying it together just to get it to stand. The doors are very small, I have to take the cage apart to empty their litter box every other day, and the platforms are just large enough for one of them to sit. So far it's been okay, other than it being a pain to take apart each time I need to clean or move things around inside. I cannot speak for customer service, but so far I will not recommend anyone this cage unless you're very good at DIY or buy two and don't mind zip tying them together? … more

Nice, sturdy cage, good size, great price!
By Dawn on Feb 12, 2019
I had originally gotten this with the intention of adding it on to another small cage and was pleasantly surprised by its size. This is a good sized cage that will comfortably house two adult rats or other similarly sized animals. Relatively easy to assemble and doesn't come apart after it's been put together. Our two rattie girls love it!

Zip Ties Required
By Jess on Nov 19, 2018
I've never had so much trouble putting together a small animal cage. Every time I got one side latched and tried moving on to the next, it would collapse in on itself. I had to use zip ties to keep the sides from buckling. In total, I ended up using 25 zip ties to hold it all together and close up the sides. While the doors stay closed on their own, they can easily be opened by the weight of a juvenile rat. So I had to put twist ties on them. The 2 latches that are meant to hold the sides to the bottom are useless. They are either too loose so it's pointless or too tight so it creates a big gap. I just put packing tape over the holes. I’m kind of worried they are going to escape even after everything I did. So they will have to stay in the bathroom until I get a better one. It's honestly not worth the frustration. I only recommend if you out of options like me, and/or are willing to put a lot time and effort into making it as safe as possible. … more

not recommended
By lynn on Feb 9, 2019
I would not recommend I had to tighten the bars to keep the cage together and not big enough for rats I would only recommend putting a baby rat in there while it’s small for a little but not big enough for an adult rat

needs bigger doors
By RatOwner on Jan 30, 2019
This is a nice cage, but children will have difficulty getting a pet out because of the small door size. It is too small for our standard rats to get enough exercise, but it would be a great cage for a pair of dwarf rats.

I couldn't, wouldn't never recommend this cage to anyone I would seriously get your measuring tape out before buying its more fore a bird and A bird and nothing else the company was great about giving me my money back and I gave the cage to the good will the cage is very wobbly very easy for your pet to break out. God bless and good luck.

Not so bad
By Thylia on Dec 15, 2018
I got this for 2 rats. it is a little flimsy but for what I needed it for it works well. One of the wires broke where the cage piece hooks to fasten the top and bottom but easy to get around. A weld wasn't welded , actually broke but again nothing that a clamp didn't fi. I did reinforce the cage with clamps and used pliers to crimp the pieces that hold it together. I'd buy another to attach to my first one.

Escaped in less than an hour.
By Annie on Dec 4, 2018
Bought this for my two mice i have for my classroom. Put it together, it was very flimsy, so we used zip ties to tighten it up a bit. Put my two mice in and within an hour they had both escaped. Tried weaving wires through to make the openings smaller but they still where able to get out. Would be perfect for a small rat. DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE MICE OR A HAMSTER! It's not worth it.

Perfect size

I hesitated to get this cage because some of the reviews stating you would need zip ties.. it is flimsy but I got a pair of needle nose and tightened the ends together.. it was perfect for the price!!!!

Not as good as it looks
By Cooky on Nov 2, 2018
It’s very flimsy.. did not hold together at the seams. the metal clips that are supposed to hold it together would not.. I used some plyers and pinched them.. a couple broke off.. I finally got it to hold long enough to wire the whole thing together with cable ties.. even the purple parts had to be wired.. it’s usable.. but if my hamster was bigger.. I don’t think it would work.
