    Jumbo Size Great for Rabbits

By OhioHollandLops on Sep 2, 2018

I breed Holland lop rabbits and have used the Jumbo Ware Scatterless litter boxes in my solid floor cages for the past two years. I recommend them to all of my customers too. I recommend them to all of my customers too. The jumbo size works great for Holland lop bunnies, which are about 3-5 pounds full grown. The metal grate is nice to keep the bunnies elevated from the mess below. Each day, I use a plastic putty knife to scrape the compressed pine pellets and urine/poop into a compost bin to spread on the garden. The litter box can then be rinsed out and refilled with litter. Very easy! I have a few rabbits who nibble and scratch the plastic, but it's never too severe. The clips hold the litter pan securely onto the cage but are easy to remove for cleaning. Only a few rabbits have figured out how to detach the pan from the cage. My only complaints are that the wire grate does rust and needs repainted after about a year, and Chewy's price is constantly fluctuating on this item. Currently, it is double the price it was three months ago, so I will not purchase it again until the price decreases. … more

Ware Scatterless Lock-N-Litter Small Animal Litter Pan

The grate moves too much for my bunny to feel confident enough to stand on it. I had to drill holes and connect wires to stabilize it enough for her to use it. And I wish you could make many larger size options. It is just too small for her. She's a "Special Needs Rabbit" and a grated litter box is imperative to keeping her infection free. THE CONCEPT IS AWESOME! It's just that finding bigger sizes is impossible. Please consider making many larger size options. … more

It’s a decent size for my big bunny but the cage keeps tilting and I’m trying to train my bunny but she is scared of it!

  • Use bedding material instead

I bought this because surprisingly, some reviewers here acted as if their rodents were potty trained. After putting this in the cage and observing my guinea pigs, I do not believe this will happen with any pet that this is intended for. My guinea pigs poop and pee in their hutches, in their food - anywhere they want. If they poop or pee on this litter pan, it will be a random event. Unfortunately, the excrement is actually harder to clean off of this than if you were to scoop it out with the bedding material made of paper or wood. If you put this in a cage, it will do absolutely nothing to change the frequency with which you have to clean the cage and replace the bedding material. Instead, I wrote this review so that if you choose to buy this, you will not do so with any false expectations. … more

  • Flimsy plastic and grate

    By on

The plastic is thin and the grate slips around for my 4 lb. bunny. I wouldn’t recommend this.

My rabbit like a to play with everything in his cage-his last potty had metal clip that kept it connected-unfortunately I threw it out w the clip! The way this potty is attatched to the cage is very cheap & flimsy. Also, the grate that seperates them is not clicked in-so he is able to remove that as well-he flips both of these everyday- I finally removed it! Now I have to find another one- if your rabbit likes to flip or play w his stuff-do not get this!
