    my cat loves it

By crouton on Aug 26, 2022

Minor assembly required, but it’s SUPER easy. It’s not wood so there’s no nails or screws requires. Everything locks together and uses a bit of pre attached velcro. Crouton is very picky about his toys, and immediately was on this scratcher the moment I put it on the ground. He loves it!

Not good for upright scratching as shown

By Jess on Aug 6, 2022

I bought this because my cat needed an upright scratcher, and this one was nicer looking than others. I was disappointed once it arrived because, although it looks like it's made of wood, it's cheap lightweight particle board that's basically cardboard weight. I was disappointed once it arrived because, although it looks like it's made of wood, it's cheap lightweight particle board that's basically cardboard weight. In addition, because the scratching pad is meant to be reversible so both sides can be used (which I initially thought would be smart financially), it's loose and doesn't actually attach to the inside casing part. The second she scratched it, it fell out and scared her. I decided to hot glue it into the black backing, and the second she scratched it that time, the whole thing tipped over from the force of her claws hooking in. Eventually the hot glue system stopped working and the scratcher fell out again. I've had to rig this thing several ways. I now have a string around it holding the scratcher in, as well as something hidden in the back of it to weight it down a bit so the whole thing can't tip over. Definitely not aesthetic. I will say that she absolutely loved the silvervine powder that came with it. Definitely not a buy, though, if you're looking for an upright scratcher. … more
