So I gave it a 4 star rating because it seems like a very good food. It even smells nice. I love the ingredients list and the added glucosamine is exactly what I was looking for for my 7-year-old cats as they adjust to getting older. They've been eating it for about a month and a half, but now that they're fully transitioned to just this food... they won't eat it. A couple bites here and there, but my girl is losing weight from barely touched food and my boy - notorious for licking the bowl clean - leaves almost half of his meals every day. I tried giving them a little of what they were eating before and they ate every bite. Unfortunately, it seems this food is not for my cats.
My 2 senior cats, Moissy 14 & Sasha 17 love it. They are mostly on wet food because they lost teeth but they still love chewing on this food and it proved to be good for them. Win-Win.
The food is good product wise however toooo rich for my baby. He kept vomiting . THE FOOD IS GREAT QUALITY JUST NOT FOR MY LITTLE ONE.
I see a lot of negative reviews given here simply because cats rejected the food on the first try. That doesn't unfair. If you've been feeding your cat a food that includes ingredients that are only there to make the cat want to eat it, it may take some time to transition your cat to this food. Think about changing a child's snacks from Twinkies to apples and carrot sticks. You know which one is healthier, but it takes some effort to convince the child. My senior cats have done very well on this food for years.
My two older cats (11 & 8) love their senior food! I do wish it came in a bigger bag. However, I do serve my cats a portion of the wellness Pâté to go along with their dry food.
I ordered this a few months back and had it stored inside not opened until she finished her other bag of food. Just opened now that my cat is finished with her other brand of food. When I opened the bag I was horrified with these bugs flying out of the bag!!! I rushed to throw it outside. There are no holes in the bag so it’s disgusting to think how they even got in the bag or the fact I would have fed this to my cat!
I have 5 cats and not one will eat this. They avoid the bowl complif it's served alone and pick morsels out when mixed with other food. The usual transition period has passed and still no success. I'm disappointed because I feed Wellness products to my dogs, who love it, and want my cats to eat a quality, healthy food. Sadly, this just didn't work out.
I adopted a senior (17 yr.old) Persian from my local Animal Control shelter. He was in really rough shape- emaciated, covered in fleas, his hair had been shaved off because he had come in so matted. He is declawed and his former owner who had had him all his life had put him outdoors to fend for himself. It has taken a couple of months, but new hair is filling in, fleas are gone and he has picked up 4 lbs. The pieces of this food are small and easy for him to pick up and chew. He always cleans up his whole bowl. He has taken an interest in life again; I credit the grainfree nutrition packed formula of this food. Oh, another perk- cleaning his litterbox is a lot less offensive- less odor , firmer stool...
Our two cats turned their nose up to this food. I even tried mixing it with wet cat food. Eventually, they were not eating so I had to offer this to a neighbor's cat.
I started to transition my cat from another diet that was less healthy. She is a very picky eater. On her first meal she pulled out all these kibbles before she ate her regular diet and the small kibbles are easy for my her to eat as well. So far so good. I will come back once she has been eating the diet for a month and leave another rrreview
