I never write reviews on food but this one I had to. My cat started on this dry food in July 2023 and now got diagnosed with struvite crystals and a UTI. Vet said it was his diet and he does love dry food. This food contains a lot of phosphorus which can cause UTIs.. I would be careful and look for a good brand filled with not a lot of ingredients...
I have 5 cats, they refused to eat the food, I see them trying but they can not chewing it, so I try one myself and almost broke a tooth! I had to run to the closest store to buy food as emergency because they were starving.
I purchased this thinking it would be healthier for my 9 year old domestic shorthair. When in reality, the comments are accurate. My cat developed diarrhea for over a week and had to be taken to the vet. I switched to Purina Beyond Grain Free, Natural Dry Cat Food, Grain Free White Meat Chicken & Egg Recipe and my cat IMMEDIATELY started eating it before I could even put the food into his bowl.
Gypsy Rose loves this kitty kibble. I also feed her wet food but if I forget the kibble she lets me know it!!
I used this cat food for my two cats, from kitten to adult, for almost 2 years. My one cat got a urinary blockage and his bladder was full of sand like crystals. It required a catheter to remove the blockage and crystals. That cost over $900.
Unfortunately, my cats prefer other dry foods - I mixed this with their usual food to introduce it, and they picked out all the pieces of their old food and left this in the dish. I'll keep trying but it's an uphill battle.
I have seven cats, and they all devoured this food. It's one of their favorites.
My cats are both indoor & outdoor cats. I decided to try this brand of cat food because of its quality ingredients. My cats love it. It's also very convenient to have it auto shipped.
Three out of four cats will eat this, but with some hesitation. It sits in the bowl for quite awhile. They're not thrilled and only eat it because that's what they have. The fourth cat (who is an outdoor kitty who usually eats anything and everything I give her) won't eat it. I think the neighborhood cats and skunks probably eat most of hers. I also bought the Salmon recipe of this food and the three indoor cats like it even less than this one. But the outdoor cats likes the Salmon flavor better. Hmm... On the next order I'll probably go back to American Journey Chicken Recipe Grain-Free Dry Cat Food. Even though they were pretty tired of that one, they seem to like it better than this Wellness Complete Health Grain Free.
So there are a lot of reviews saying their cats won’t touch this food…I’m having a similar issue… I have 2 cats, one male, one female, both 5 years old and neither are very picky eaters. When I first introduced the kibble, one little piece for each, they ate it. Great! Put some in their bowls, they ate a few bites and were done. Thought nothing of it since they had already had dinner. Since then they barely touch it if at all. In fact, one cat will sometimes eat it and the other won’t. I’ve tried refreshing it, adding more, changing the bowl, putting it straight on the floor etc. Again, one will eat a few bites here and there and the other just looks confused. BUT, he’ll eat it out of my hand…once I put it in the bowl he’s lost again. I’ve also noticed this food has very little smell compared to other kibble and I’m wondering if that’s the issue. Cats can’t see up close and have to rely on their sense of smell to be their eyes. If they can’t smell it, it doesn’t exist lol. That’s the only thing I can think of… Otherwise the quality seems great and if I could get them to eat it on the regular I’d definitely buy it again! Hope this helps!
