Transition Instructions

The best way to transition your pet onto a new food is to gradually introduce the food by mixing it with the old diet (starting by mixing 90% old with 10% new and increase new by 10% each day until the bowl is full of only Wellness). Mixing the food will allow your pet to acclimate to the new taste and not overindulge on the new food.

When food transition is not an option, there are a few ways to ensure a good transition:

Feed multiple, smaller volume meals. This will decrease the likelihood of over-consumption and provide for a more consistent, firm stool. Add clean warm water to the food to help soften it. Add a digestive aid such a boiled brown rice or sugar-free canned pumpkin.

    Cats Enjoy This

    By on

Oddly enough, my cats only eat wet food that is fish flavored. (In fact, they hate any wet food with chicken or turkey.) However, they only eat dry food that is chicken flavored. I figured this out the hard way when they turned their noses to the salmon flavor of this food. I was able to get them to eat it by mixing this chicken flavor to it.

    Good quality/ cats being cats..

    By on

I found Wellness to be a quality brand, but my cats don’t eat this very well.. It is too expensive to waste . Made the decision to shift to a different brand. Not because it’s not a good quality, Simply because not every one likes same thing! Even Cats..

    Cats not pleased

    By on

Tried feeding this food to 3 cats hoping smaller package at first would be good introduction to this food. They don't finish what's in their dishes and I am wondering if Chewy would accept the return of the unopened large package.

A good product for dry food

    By on

When i buy dry food for my cats i only want the best ingredients. I first look for the absence of tapioca as a combining agent and Wellness does good on that. Meat as a first ingredient rather than meal is my 2nd choice and then cranberries. Wellness is one of the few brands that meets all of these tests for a healthy grain free dry food brand.

Product great but Wrong nutritional values on chewy site

    By on

My review isn’t for the product itself. I like the Wellness line and feed it to my dogs as well. My review is for the nutritional values that were listed on the page versus the ones on the bag. I have been researching cat foods to find a “good” food for my cat that was just diagnosed with kidney disease. I was looking for a food that had a lower phosphorus content than what I’m feeding now without having to resort to the crappy(in my opinion) prescription diet. I was thrilled when I saw this had a MAX .8% only to get it and on the bag says MIN .8% which means it could be higher! This is very important for those cats with these issues! Upset to say the least!

Our 2 cats love it although they get fed mostly grain free, human grade canned cat foot that Chewy sells.
