Feeding Instructions

To feed alone: 1 can per day for each 6 – 8 lbs of body weight.

To feed with dry: Reduce dry by 1/4 cup for every 1/2 can wet.

Refrigerate unused portion.

Transition Instructions

The best way to transition your pet onto a new food is to gradually introduce the food by mixing it with the old diet (starting by mixing 90% old with 10% new and increase new by 10% each day until the bowl is full of only Wellness). Mixing the food will allow your pet to acclimate to the new taste and not overindulge on the new food.

When food transition is not an option, there are a few ways to ensure a good transition:

Feed multiple, smaller volume meals. This will decrease the likelihood of over-consumption and provide for a more consistent, firm stool. Add clean warm water to the food to help soften it. Add a digestive aid such a boiled brown rice or sugar-free canned pumpkin.

Great until catitude fussiness kicked in

    By on

My cats were enjoying this food with gusto for about three cans. Then no dice. Even my youngest cat, who eats just about anything, stopped. Don’t know if some time during processing if the recipe changed or what. No enticing my cats to have them eat it again. More cans to donate to my local animal shelter.

    Very appealing to average cat

    By on

Although it says "smooth pate", it's not as smooth as the TIKI Cat VELVET Mousse. However, it has a lot of appeal to the AVERAGE cat & VERY high protein/premium cat food but my female Bengal still didn't like it. My male will eat just about anything, LOL.

    no go for us

    By on

My 4 did not want anything to do with this. Even mixed with warm water which I typically do. I had a weird jelly like consistency. I was sad, I dont often buy the expensive food, but wanted something with higher protein for my older guy. I ended up feeding it to the stray cats across the street, and even they took a min to eat. Im sure the food is good quality, just not for us

    Good quality product

    By on

I like the ingredients and the fact this is low carb. However, it's taking time for the cats to adjust to this, so I am currently mixing it with their other food and it's empty bowls every meal!

    By on

Our cat, Loonie, loves Core Chicken Pate. She always wants more. It would be easy to make her fat.

    They Love It!

    By on

I originally bought Wellness Core 95 because my two feral born youngsters are overweight and I decided a grain free diet was my best bet in bringing their weight down. After a lot of research and reviews I decided to try three brands that fit my requirements. The Core 95 won the taste test hands down, even my finicky 10yr old gobbles his meals up! As a bonus they’re litter box’s don’t stink up the house anymore either! I do add a tsp. of salmon oil and organic pumpkin to their meals for hairball control and to assure regular healthy bowel movements. Good quality cat food is not inexpensive, however, Chewy,s subscribe and save will save me about $300 a year compared to the pet stores and it I originally bought Wellness Core 95 because my two feral born youngsters are overweight and I decided a grain free diet was my best bet in bringing their weight down. Bali Loves it

    By on

Bali is a bit like Mikie... She likes most everything and will eat anything. However, do not mess with her Chicken or Turkey, which the Core 95 managed not to. (She hates the Wellness Chicken and herring). I put down the Core 95 chicken for her and she plowed through it. The smooth Pate was the right texture as she does not "get" how to eat morsels or flake. I will be ordering the turkey soon to see how she likes that one. It's not available at the local pet store. I expect similar results as to the chicken. Now, if you could have Rabbit and single flavor fish pates she would be in heaven.

    No One Wants It

    By on

I have two exotic shorthair. They've been eating Royal Canin since birth. They like Wellness Complete Chicken flavor. I bought Wellness Core 95%, and neither cat wants to touch it. 95% smells nice in my opinion, but it's not up to me. My cats hate it and now I have 11 cans left. This stuff isn't cheap and I don't know what to do. Wish I could return it.

A big "NO" vote from my two cats

    By on

One of my two 10-year-old male cats suffers from idiopathic hypercalcemia and when CORE changed its formula for their Indoor Chicken/chicken liver pate and added tricalcium phosphate the vet said it could be a danger for him to continue eating it. Thus I had high hopes for this fairly new limited ingredient CORE 95. Unfortunately both cats, who are never fussy about their wet food, tasted it and immediately walked away without eating it. For other cats this may be the perfect food, but my two guys voted a big "NO". The remainder of the case was donated to the shelter from which I rescued these two cats (brothers) and I'm sure it went quickly.

Nice quality but the feline tyrants don't love it

    By on

This pate has a nice look and consistency from a newly opened can and 2 out of 3 of our cats ate it. The food gets much firmer after refrigeration, and the cats will not eat it cold. Even at room temperature, after it's had a night in the fridge, they just cover it and walk away. It could use more liquid/jelly to mix in, but I appreciate that it's a premium food and the can is packed full. The star is deducted only because my cats are not wild about it.
