Where's the gravy?
I had been wanting to try this for a long time cause the cats like chicken and tuna. For me it was always so expensive to try it and none of the pet stores around here carried this flavor. They do eat it , but just barely. I t is a tightly packed can of food but there is no gravy. What a let down. Guess I don't have to worry about buying it again.
She loves the gravy, not so much the formed "shreds"
My parents looked after the cat while I was in the hospital, panicked because she doesn't always clean her plate (and/or were displacing their anxiety about me onto the cat), and bought all the Wellness foods with tuna in them. I'd been avoiding tuna, mostly because previous elderly cats had developed food allergies & the plan was to wait until necessity or geriatric health indicated 24/7 indulgence (there's other reasons to feed other proteins before fish & especially tuna, google should find them). But hey, now Mom is the cats favorite Food Lady ;) Anyway. As with many gravy & formed chunks foods, my cat wants all the gravy & not so much the food (though she ate it for Mom, grrr). Now that home life is back to normal, she'll gobble some of the formed chunks, lick off all the gravy, and then sate her hunger with the don't-wake-me-at-3-am kibble. I have better luck with pâtés, or wet foods like Wellness Signature in which chicken shreds are really shredded chicken. But if your cat doesn't eat only the yummy part and leave all the nutrients & calories in the plate, and you don't have a problem with tuna, go for it.
Chewy always has a broad range of products available and they ship the order out quickly. The Wellness Core Hearty Cuts is a great cat food and the cat can't get enough.
No thank you
The cats were underwhelmed - so was I. I have given my kitties almost every type of Wellness wet food and the Hearty Cuts are probably the least favorite here. Another reviewer stated that this looked very processed and I totally agree. I’m not sure if I got a bad batch, but each can was very dry. I was expecting a lot more juices since the hearty cuts are in gravy. The kitties voted no. It’s back to skipjack tuna, salmon and shrimp for them!
Both of my cats liked this food
This was a new texture for my picky Maine Coon but he ate it and asked for more. My DSH is not picky and ate it all up.
Rescue cat is finicky---
My pure-bred Balinese will eat anything and seems to like Core hearty Cuts, but my ginger rescue cat just does not like this food AT ALL! He is a monkey, so that's just the way it goes, I guess
Definitely Attractive to Felines
The quality of this product is excellent. My pets like it so much they can’t wait for the can to be opened.
kitties like it, looks very processed
Kitties like it, but I have to alternate with other food. Kitties like the texture, although whatever was cut looks highly processed. I'm trying to find wet food that actually looks like it has real food in it..
Loki = Yes! Tyson = meh...
One cat is a garbage can that pretty much eats anything I feed him. The other cat is more of a snacker and a much pickier eater.
A lot of moisture and my cats love it
Both of my cats love this, at first I wasn’t sure if they’d like it because of the texture but they both eat it all. It has a lot of moisture and it contains chicken liver which is a plus as well.
