Where are ingredients sourced from and where is it made?
Answer by ChewyOct 16, 2018
Wellness manufacturer's their formulas in the USA and sources their ingredients primarily from the United States. Proteins like venison, lamb rabbit and salmon meal are sourced from New Zealand, Australia, Italy and Chile. A small portion of the mixed tocopherols and green tea extract are sourced from China. These ingredients are part of the natural preservative in the food and are less than 1% of total ingredients.

What are PHOS/MAG/ASH levels of this dry? I need to curb bladder stones and blockage and want something other than Rx food filled with fillers and junk food.
Answer by ChewyNov 27, 2020
The ash is 8.31%, magnesium is 0.14%, and the phosphorus is 1.3% (all on an as fed basis).

"Does this food support a healthy PH? If so what is the range?"
Answer by ChewyJun 27, 2018
WellPet feline diets are formulated to yield a urine pH of 6.2 to 6.6 for dry and 6.1 to 6.6 for canned and pouches. Study results confirm that Wellness diets are safe for the majority of the feline population. Other factors that may affect a cat's pH are: 1) meal fed vs. free-feeding, 2) amount of fresh water intake during feeding, and 3) genetics.

Wellness Cat Food CORE

Very happy with their product as well as the rest of Wellness lineup of foods. My cats eat it with no problems and are happy with the choice of the CORE chicken. Their coats are sleek and soft, their litter box doesn’t smell. The food is quality ingredients and seems to be a good fit for them. Overall a plus plus for me and my cats.

My unpicky cat wont eat it!

I usually ordered the orange original wellness core bag and for some reason managed to switch to this one, maybe there was a sale or something, I don't remember. But my cat won't eat it? I've seen him eat out of the bowl of many cats with no complaints (I caught him and pulled him away lol). I can't figure out why he, or even my sister's cat, won't eat this one. I poured water in it and he picked at it but i'm really struggling to get him to eat. I reordered the orange bag and hopefully that will solve this. Also Chewy was able to refund the full bag of this I ordered so I am grateful for that.

Trying for the first time

I have no complaints about this food. My cats have been eating it just fine. They don't go nuts over it, but with my fat cats that's a good thing, lol. I like to vary their food each time, and I will keep this in the rotation. I always compare protein, carbs, calories, price, and reviews on all foods before I decide, so this food ticks all those boxes well.

My cats won’t eat it

I tried to switch from Blue, but my cats won’t eat it! I’ve been trying to mix it with Tiny Tiger kibble, they’ve just been digging to only eat the other one. My dry food cat would rather eat dried up wet food. My strays don’t even like it :(

Horrible Product

This product is absolutely horrible. It made by my cats throw up and have diarrhea. When we call to complain about this product they said stated there is nothing they can do. We can’t accept a return or compensate. I have been ordering from this site for over 4 years and have never had this type of problem.

Formula/kibble change??

My cats have eaten this very well for about a year but in the last month I’ve noticed the kibble has shrunk quite a bit and I don’t know if the formula changed as well but my cats drop most of it on the floor. I am a foster so I have multiple cats, 1 has visible weight loss from refusing to eat and another that throws up after eating. Very disappointed to whatever has changed, my eco system is in shambles.

the package is designed to be always open?

Because of the poor design, I cannot completely close the zip seal, leaving a hole in the corner all the time. It has a impact on the food quality. My cats don’t even eat the dry food at all

Big cat refuses to eat it

My adult cat wants to eat the kitten food all the time. So I tried to find something with similar size and shape. He refuses to eat it. The cat who would eat his bowl dry now has a mess all around his dish and only eats the bits he can find mixed in.

They hated it

My cats refused to eat this food. I tried mixing it very slowly, like even 10:1 old:new food and they wouldn’t eat it. They’d look at me as if I were trying to poison them and then walk away. I’ve never experienced that before, it was so strange. The food seems to have quality ingredients so it’s disappointing for sure.
