How to Feed Your Kitten As kittens grow up they need to learn when, where and how to eat. Depending on age, kittens need to be fed at the same time and in the same place 2 - 4 times per day. Food should be removed after 20 minutes, if not eaten. In the beginning, kitten’s food can be moistened with a little warm water.

Transition Instructions

Nutritionally Balanced for Kittens
Optimal Health to the CORE

Supporting Your Cat's Optimal Health to the CORE

Wellness CORE follows the nutritional philosophy that pets, based on their primal ancestry, thrive on a diet mainly comprised of meat. CORE formulas are packed with quality animal protein without fillers or grains, plus botanicals and nutritional supplements. These unique, grain-free recipes support and nurture your pet, contributing to his inner wellbeing all the way through to his core.

Why is CORE Different?

Unlike many grain-free diets, Wellness CORE considers your pet's whole health by ensuring the overall nutritional equation remains appropriate for everyday feeding. Higher protein can also mean higher fat, minerals and calories. By thoughtfully selecting specialized ingredients and managing nutritional ratios, CORE delivers protein-focused nutrition thoughtfully - with balance, not excess.

Why is CORE Different?

Fresh, Whole Food Ingredients

Wellness CORE provides a balanced profile of high-quality, natural ingredients appropriate for everyday feeding. These grain-free recipes contain absolutely no meat by-products, artificial colors, flavorings, preservatives, corn, wheat or soy.

  • Good ingredients but cat doesn't like it.

    By on

One of my kitten is a dry food addict. He was crazy on all dry food I've fed which were more than ten different brands and tastes, until he met this one. He only finished half the portion of his normal meal, and then walked away with a displeasure looking. However, right after I added several grains of other dry food into the remaining meal, he ate them all. Well, I guess this is just not his cup of tea.

  • Great ingredients, but kittens didn't like it much

    By on

This is a very good quality product. The ingredients are what we were looking for in a dry food - no grains, no odd animal byproducts, good quality ingredients. The form factor is small disks. Our two 5-month old kittens did not care for this product very much - they would eat them, but they preferred another product we had available. I'm not sure if their preference was based on the form factor (the other product was larger disks) or the flavor. The fact our kittens did not like eating this product is why I gave only 4 stars. The product is definitely a great product, but not all kittens will like it.

  • Kitten is thriving!

    By on

The 11 week old kitten I took in started this diet about two weeks ago. He is doing wonderful on it. He eats it all, wet food or not. He doesn't seem hungry all the time like you see with cats on diets of lesser quality, even while burning so much energy playing and running. Despite having a persistent cold, his eyes are bright, he's maintaining a good weight, and he is full of energy. I have a hard time keeping my older cat from sneaking into his food as well. I am very happy with this line and believe my kitten will stay on this diet for a very long time.

  • Excellent Food for Kittens

    By on

First, I love this food because it has the most meat ingredients of almost any other kitten food I have found. I prefer when kitten foods don't have potatoes as the second or third ingredient on the list (silly, I know, but I would prefer for kittens to have more protein than starch). My new kitten I adopted LOVES this food and I have a hard time keeping my older cat out of it! I also fed it to my mom's two cats when they were kittens and, just like my kitten, it gave them lots of energy and kept them full. I always recommend this food for kittens because it is just so good for them!

  • Perfect Dry Food for Kittens!

    By on

When I adopted my Kitten I switched him from Friskies dry food to this. He actually preferred eating Wellness when it was mixed in with is old food (you could tell he picked through it for the good stuff!). Everyone compliments Milky on his extremely soft, healthy coat thanks to Wellness! Friends say he's the softest kitty they've ever met. I highly recommend this food!

  • sleek coats

    By on

Our two kittens eat the dry and wet food from Wellness. They have the best coats I've ever seen or felt. They practically do not shed at all. It's costly though. It runs us about $77 a month. I guess that's the trade off.
