This food is formulated for adult, non-reproducing cats over one year old as kittens and pregnant or nursing mothers have special nutritional requirements. It is important to slowly transition your cat from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5 - 7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness® CORE® by day 7.
CORE is highly palatable so your cat may tend to eat more of this food. Watch initially to see if you need to adjust regular eating patterns. Give your cat access to clean, cool fresh water at all times and feed Wellness® CORE® wet food in combination whenever possible, to increase the level of water in your cat's diet. Nutrition is the foundation of wellbeing, but be sure to give your cat plenty of love, exercise and see your veterinarian regularly!

Best dry cat food
By catzz on Jan 11, 2021
Our holistic vet recommended CORE dry food, perhaps mixing with some non-dry (which we haven't done); she says carb / grain-free is best. Our young cats love it, and we're sold.

my cat doesn’t like it
By lengzhuuu on Nov 13, 2020
It confuses me that I actually don’t know if my 8-month cat really likes this food. She ACTS like she refuses to eat it when we look at her. But she eats some when we are asleep or not paying attention to her. Strange cat.

Fantastic food
By Wenbar on Aug 19, 2020
I have 4 Ragdoll cats, two thirteen years, one 10 years and one 5 years old. they all love this food, have beautiful coats and are all very healthy. I start them out very young (after kitten time). I can see why the transition is hard if you are feeding other foods when they are older. This food is so great for them....I have tree males and their is ingredient that take care of urinary track issues that can occur in older males.....vey healthy food, but the younger the cats are the easier to transition. Kitten chow is like candy to cats because of the high calorie count which they need as they are growing to fast.

Works Well For My Diabetic Cat
By NotChewy on Jul 31, 2020
I have three cats and one is diabetic. They all get three canned meals a day and I always have some of this dry food out as my youngest seems to favor dry more than canned. He's kind of a little tyke so that's why I can't completely eliminate dry food in my household. The carb content on this dry food is 14.17% on a dry matter basis. The other day I accidentally bought Wellness Core Grain-Free Chicken, Turkey & Chicken Meal dry. My diabetic cat, whose blood glucose readings average at 275, has had readings at over 500 since eating some of the Chicken, Turkey & Chicken Meal dry. I called Wellness Core and the carb content on that product is 29.35%. That's double and surely explains why I have three cats and one is diabetic. Great cat food!
By PiperAndMaddiesMom1 on Aug 31, 2020
My cat (Ellie) really enjoys this food! Although, to be fair, she will eat anything if I let her (corn husks, plastic, bacon grease, cheese, salad dressing, dog food). I still feel good knowing that she's getting good, high-protein food when she's not trying to steal my lunch!

Vet recommend company, rep recommend change in my order
By CChloe on Aug 1, 2020
vet recommended a few companies for my cats change in diet. The one I choose needed a vet response to order, which did not happen in time. My 1 yr old cats have a pre-diagnosis of kidney problems with elevated BUN. I still have not brought them back for additional blood and urine analysis. My cats will nibble on this, but not overly thrilled to eat

Better than the average kibble.
By Kate on Sep 22, 2020
Since I feed my cats mainly wet food, I chose this one because it has a higher protein content, less additives and lower carbohydrates.

By Amyyo on Jul 18, 2020
Was trying to switch her from Science Diet to something healthier but she didn't like it. Switched to Instinct and she loves that.
