It is important to slowly transition your puppy from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5 - 7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness® CORE® each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness® CORE® by day 7.
I have a 9mo old Border Collie puppy who is very picky and has a sensitive stomach. We literally tried 6 other dog food brands that either gave her diarrhea or she would just pick at and not eat them well. Thank you Wellness for making a great dog food!
After almost 20 years of having corgis, I have 2 puppies who are picky eaters. This food has a great ingredient list, and their poops are good on this food, but they will not eat it unless I dress it up with beef liver or shredded cheese. Now that they're 1 year old I'm switching them to the brand that their older sister is enjoying.
Our puppy will not eat this. She will only eat it when it is mixed with raw or with wet food. As soon as we are done with this bag, we will be changing brands.
She loves this brand, but it's too costly. So we will need to change the brand unfortunately.
Obi really likes this flavor! I normally have to mix his food with something else but not with this.
Chewy has fast shipping and great costumer support. The Wellness Core puppy food is loved by our dog. He cleans the bowl out!
My dogs love this food, but I buy it for the quality of the ingredients.
I started giving my corgi puppy this good from the time I got him (obviously transitioning him slowly from breeder food to this) and it was reluctant at first but I thought it could be just because he wasn’t food motivated and stressed because of being in a new environment. However, it never warmed up to it and I had to mix Ollie fresh food with it for him to even touch it. The only reason I didn’t return it was because I thought he’d start liking it (obviously was wrong) and because the nutritional value is so great, and the fact that protein is so high with lower crude fat which is essential for corgis as they need higher protein but prone to weight gain (and yes I know puppies shouldn’t worry about weight gain but still). After the bag was done (when he was 6 months) I changed him to Orijen puppy food and boy let me tell you, he LOVES meal time now. More than Ollie fresh food and definitely more than this food. So I’d recommend this food IF your puppy will eat it. The kibble is also larger and harder than Orijen kibble and other puppy foods, just a warning for smaller/medium size puppies.
This used to be a great food but Wellness has changed its formula and puppies get diarrhea on it. Both my puppies and my client’s puppies did not do well on it. They don’t make the canned formula that went with the dry so not sure what the problem is. Won’t be using in the future.
my two little dogs love the tiny bites and will eat dry or mixed. they are happy so I am happy
