Combination Feeding: If feeding with wet food, reduce dry amount fed by 1/2 cup, for every 6-oz of wet food.
This food is formulated for adult, non-reproducing dogs over one year old as puppies and pregnant or nursing mothers have special nutritional requirements. It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5 - 7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness® each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness® CORE® by day 7.
CORE is highly palatable so your dog may tend to eat more of this food. Watch initially to see if you need to adjust regular eating patterns. Give your dog access to clean, cool fresh water at all times and feed Wellness® CORE® wet food in combination whenever possible, to increase the level of water in your dog's diet. Nutrition is the foundation of wellbeing, but be sure to give your dog plenty of love, exercise and see your veterinarian regularly!

Grain-Free, Protein-Focused Dry Food
Wellness CORE follows the nutritional philosophy that pets, based on their primal ancestry, thrive on a diet mainly comprised of meat. CORE formulas are packed with quality animal protein without fillers or grains, plus botanicals and nutritional supplements. These unique, grain-free recipes support and nurture your pet, contributing to his inner wellbeing all the way through to his core.

Why is CORE Different?
Unlike many grain-free diets, Wellness CORE considers your pet's whole health by ensuring the overall nutritional equation remains appropriate for everyday feeding. Higher protein can also mean higher fat, minerals and calories. By thoughtfully selecting specialized ingredients and managing nutritional ratios, CORE delivers protein-focused nutrition thoughtfully - with balance, not excess.
Fresh, Whole Food Ingredients
Wellness CORE provides a balanced profile of high-quality, natural ingredients appropriate for everyday feeding. These grain-free recipes contain absolutely no meat by-products, artificial colors, flavorings, preservatives, corn, wheat or soy.

Good Mix of Proteins
By RescueMom on Nov 5, 2019
After another brand was flagged in a recall I went on a hunt for a brand that has good nutritional content and no recalls. My 8 year old boxer will eat anything you put in her bowl but some foods cause her to have such bad gas you can’t stay in the same room with her. I wanted a food that isn’t a single protein but has some cool proteins and no potatoes as she tends to get itchy feet (yeast overgrowth) with potatoes. This mix of proteins seems to be working well for her so far. Switched her to this several months ago without any transition issues. The only thing I would like better is if the rabbit and boar content was higher and there was oatmeal instead of rice in it. And there is chicken fat in it, which we have had issues with in the past, but so far so good. I just adopted a 9 yr old cocker spaniel (new breed in my house) and she is sweet but came with yeasty ears. I’ve been transitioning her to this as well and while I treated her ears, they are staying clear so far. Happy with Wellness and will keep feeding it. … more

Dog loves it
By Emi1204 on Aug 1, 2019
My Shiba Inu is turning a year old so I am trying to find a replacement to her current puppy food. After lots of research I decided to give this a try. So far, she seems to like it, but she gets bored of the same food over a period of time so not as excited as she was in the beginning. One thing I noticed is that her stools are healthier, no more runny stools.

Great ingredient list

We are transitioning away from another food and into this one. I don’t find my dogs are eating as much as they used to and it’s giving one of them the poops. Not sure I will continue with it. I know it’s a good food. Maybe not right for my dogs.

My two BICHONS love their Wellness food. There are no allergy issues and their hair looks terrific. They go absolutely wild at feeding time.

It’s a Hit

Wanted to give our dog a change. She was allergy tested so our options are limited. She loves this particular flavor. I mix in the Core freeze dried food for variations.

Error on lbs
By pmayfield on Aug 20, 2019
This is great dog food, my pup loves it. But it should be known that this dog food does not come in a 26lb bag. It is 22lbs. Even if you zoom in on the photo on here, it says 22lbs. Just be known you’re not getting 26 lbs. They should change this because it is falsely marketed

Expensive but..........!
By JIMMY on May 11, 2019
I did as top vet university doctors and vets recommended and changed our dogs diet to a different type of food that he has been on for years but not the brand! The results were ----my dog still ate with the same boredom that he has been for years but his stools were more solid and firm ---not that his old ones were loose but these are firmer ! Other than that everything seems the same except my wallet !
