Combination Feeding: If feeding with Wellness wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/3 cup for every 6 oz of wet food.

For pregnant or nursing dogs: Since DHA is transferred to puppies in mother’s milk, we recommend feeding this during pregnancy and nursing. When pregnant, feed up to 50% more food according to body weight at 12 mos. For nursing dogs, allow her to eat at will.

Transition Instructions

The best way to transition your pet onto a new food is to gradually introduce the food by mixing it with the old diet (starting by mixing 90% old with 10% new and increase new by 10% each day until the bowl is full of only Wellness). Mixing the food will allow your pet to acclimate to the new taste and not overindulge on the new food.

When food transition is not an option, there are a few ways to ensure a good transition:

Feed multiple, smaller volume meals. This will decrease the likelihood of over-consumption and provide for a more consistent, firm stool. Add clean warm water to the food to help soften it. Add a digestive aid such a boiled brown rice or sugar-free canned pumpkin.

    Not for my Pomsky

    By on

We adopted a 12-week old Pomsky and she doesn’t like this food. I’m currently researching new kibble for her because I feel like she only eats it when she’s starving. She must be a picky eater since it seems very popular with the other dogs in these reviews. My complaint about the food itself is that we’ve purchased 2 bags and there are not nearly as many raw bits as the pictures show. I would say in a half cup, there’s about 4 pieces of freeze-dried turkey, and that’s what my puppy eats first so we’re picking them out of the bag for her.

    Pitbull loves it!

    By on

Finally a food for my pitbull puppy after trying many different foods and finding out she had a grain allergy we tried this one and it was AMAZING! her skin isn't dry and her fur is growing back.. and best of all she is eating! I know some say grain free is bad for dogs.. but you have to do alot of research and look closely at the ingredients to find what food is ok! Happy pup makes a happy fur mom

    some good ingredients

    By on

I like the ingredients but would prefer them not being grain free. The ideal product would be with the normal usual grains most dog foods have and the good stuff in this product. I would want to avoid legumes and peas instead of grains.

Finally! Perfect for a Picky Eater!

    By on

My mini labradoodle is the pickiest eater. I've tried three different dog foods and I could barely get her to eat the Wellness CORE Original Turkey Puppy formula if I put a little water in the food, and even then she would stick up her nose 90% of the time. I tried this formula on a whim and she goes nuts for it! I am mixing it with her old food as recommended, but she will actually spit out the old formula and pick out these kibbles. I don't know if it's really necessary for me to mix the food as long as recommended since they are the same brand, puppy formula, and turkey, it's just this is freeze dried raw. If you have a picky eater like me, try this!

    amazing food

    By on

we got a 10 week old gsp and switched him over to this food. he took to it very quickly and has loved it since. the food his breeder gave him wasn't available in our area. after some research we tried this and we couldn't be happier. we constantly get compliments on how great his coat looks. very happy with it and when he reachs a yr old will switch him to the non puppy/adult brand of raw rev.

    Not good for sensitive tummies

    By on

My lab puppy had really bad diarrhea with this. I didn’t figure out it was the food until he had something different and had regular stools. My senior girl loves for me to mix in this food with hers though so it must taste good. It just didn’t work for its intended use, unfortunately.

    they love this

    By on

my dogs love this product and go hog wild. I just feel wellness should make this a little more affordable or give more of it for the price - very expensive (wellness in general) especially when you have multiple dogs for feed.

    Wagging Tail Approved

    By on

My older dogs have been moved to a freeze-dried/grain-free food, so when I got my new puppy I spent over 2 hours reviewing ingredients of many, many brands to ensure my pup was getting the quality she deserves. Her wagging tail tells me she approves of the decision I made.
