Transition Instructions

The best way to transition your pet onto a new food is to gradually introduce the food by mixing it with the old diet (starting by mixing 90% old with 10% new and increase new by 10% each day until the bowl is full of only Wellness). Mixing the food will allow your pet to acclimate to the new taste and not overindulge on the new food.

When food transition is not an option, there are a few ways to ensure a good transition:

Feed multiple, smaller volume meals. This will decrease the likelihood of over-consumption and provide for a more consistent, firm stool. Add clean warm water to the food to help soften it. Add a digestive aid such a boiled brown rice or sugar-free canned pumpkin.

Two paws up from my kitty!

    By on

We just moved and in the midst of the chaos my cat's food went MIA. I ran to the store to pick up some more Core Wellness Indoor formulas and saw this formula in a little trial sized bag. I figured it would get her by until the Chewy order came in. She is normally a wet food obsessed kitty, but she started eating this out of the storage container before I even had a chance to scoop some into her bowl! She eats a much better portion of dry food now and hopefully will put on a few pounds to fill out a little more. She loves the liver niblets as well and eats those first, but then continues to munch away. Will be ordering this formula again ASAP!

    Chewy to the Rescue

    By on

As always, Chewy comes through for me. Added a little raw to my cats diet and waited until the last minute to get an order in. Had it in 2 days, no sweat. Thanks Chewy!

    nothing bad to say

I have 3 cats, and it always takes time when I switch their food. they spend a day or two ignoring the new food, then they start eating it in small portions. two weeks after switching they are all back to their normal eating quantities - I love the ingredients and the little bits of free dried food - I can feel good feeding this food to my babies

My Cats Give 2 Paws Up

    By on

Got this to entice my cats to eat a super healthy dry kibble that they don’t especially like. Worked like a charm. I add about a 1/4 cup to each of their 1 cup servings of the other and mix up. The freeze dried turkey is in big hunks sometimes so I simply break it between my fingers- very simple. My cats would love to eat this alone if I’d let them.

    My Cat Loved

    By on

My 1 year old cat loves this food. If the raw pieces are too big, they are really easy to crush up with your fingers.

    cat loves this food

    By on

My 3 yr old cat loves this food. She eats the freeze dried portions out of her bowl first, then eats the rest. I agree, some of the freeze dried bites are a bit big, but she doesn’t have a problem with them. The ingredients are quality ingredients with no extra crap or fillers. Her coat and her energy are great. I recommend this food. She’s been on it now for about a year.

    Luna 10yrs loves it

    By on

I just adopted my senior car about 2 months ago. She was under weight when I got her. I was feeding her dry and wet but then she started being picky and not eating the dry food. I was like oh no I just bought a new bag of food we will be finishing it lol so I stopped giving her wet as much well now it seems she’s losing weight again. So I decided to look for a high protein food for her. I liked the ingredients in this one and have it a try. I have never seen her eat her food so fast. Normally she eats a little walks away and comes back but she literally sat and ate until it was almost gone! I am sold!

Good but Freeze-dried bits are too big

    By on

I bought this because I'm trying to get my cat to eat a little more dry food. She enjoyed the freeze-dried turkey liver, however, I found that the some of the pieces were too big for her and she kept spitting them out and going for the smaller ones. This enjoyment lasted about a day and then she was knocking the bowl with this over (her way of letting me know she doesn't like something). If you're cat isn't as picky, they may like this, but I strongly suggest that they try to make some of the liver pieces a little smaller.

My picky cat won't eat the freeze dried part

    By on

My cat won't eat the freeze dried bits - and quite frankly, most of them are too big for my cat's little mouth - she seems to think they are rocks. Fortunately I have a small dog that will clean up after her but he doesn't need the extra calories. The cat does eat the kibble portion but this is a 'paws down' for her.
