Combination Feeding: If feeding with wet food, reduce dry amount fed by 1/2 cup, for every 6 oz of wet food.

For pregnant or nursing dogs: Since DHA is transferred to puppies in mother’s milk, we recommend feeding this during pregnancy and nursing. When pregnant, feed up to 50% more food according to body weight for 12 mos. For nursing dogs, allow her to eat at will.

Transition Instructions

It is important to slowly transition your puppy from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5 - 7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness® CORE® each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness® CORE® by day 7.

I use to buy Dinner rounds, but they were not healthy for my dog. This is so much better for him.

  • It's not the right size

    By on

Wellness used to make puppy food (using the same recipe as Tender Bites) in smaller pieces. They were the perfect size for treats. I miss those. The dogs still love these as treats, but they must be halved to work as treats.Sometimes an "update" is not a great idea.

  • My pup loves this stuff

We have a 7 month old mixed breed puppy and he devours this stuff & he is kind of a picky eater. It does smell kind of funky but Winston doesn't seem to mind

  • Husky loves it

The tender bites are awesome. I put it as a topper for his regular food & he tries eating the tender bites first. He devours it in seconds. The only downside is it smells funny but it's tolerable, & it's pricey.

  • One of two dogs enjoys

    By on

I have two York-Chihuahua mixes. Both eat Wellness Small Breed kibble and Wellness canned, but only one really enjoys eating this softer food. I keep one bowl with the air dried and one bowl with the kibble filled only enough for what can be eaten in two days so they’re always eating fresh food. They also eat chicken freeze dried Primal raw nuggets and Nature’s Variety Instinct raw nuggets. Recent bloodwork shows I don’t need to change anything. Oliver is 3, Otis will be 11 this year.

  • Soft version of puppy kibble

    By on Top 250 Contributor

From what I can tell, this is the same ingredients as the dry food. We fooled our puppy into thinking his soft food is a treat, so we incorporate this food into his training for positive reinforcement.

  • a good treat

    By on

We add this to the top of the girls food as a little treat. It took a few days for them to get use to it, but they enjoy it now. I like that it is adding some good protein that is air dried and not to hard for them to digest. Wellness is a great company with good ingredients.

  • Love it!!!!

    By on

I mix 25% of tender bites with 75% of regular wellness core dried kibbles. My Shiba Inu puppy loves it. She tries to pick and eat the tender bites first. Too bad it does not come in a bigger bag because it is pricey. But I am happy with the quality of food that she is consuming. I also have a fennec fox that is soooo picky with kibbles. We tried everything to meet his recommended protein intake... different kibbles, baby food, cooked meat, etc. But he always got tired of his protein meal then he avoids eating them eventually... until he started eating these wellness core tender bites. He is now getting the protein that he needs everyday.

  • Salmon Stinks!

My bad... didn’t read far enough to see the Salmon. My dogs won’t touch it! I’m not real keen on the smell either!
