Frequently Asked Questions

What is the shelf life of Wellness Natural Pet Food?

Wellness dry foods have an expiration of 18 months from date of manufacture. Wellness canned foods have an expiration of 3 years from date of manufacture. Dog & cat plastic have an expiration of 2 years from date of manufacture.

What does "natural" pet food mean?

Natural means we use ingredients that are derived from plants, animals and minerals in our recipes and that Wellness pet food contains no artificial preservatives or colors.

Why do your products sometimes vary in size, shape, color, texture or aroma?

Wellness products are natural, and as a result, you may experience product that looks slightly different in texture, color, shape, aroma and consistency from time to time. This is a function of natural products in general, but also raw material fluctuations and the manufacturing process. Please be assured that even though the product may look different from batch to batch, its superior nutritional value, palatability and safety does not change.

Why are some Guaranteed Analysis (GA) levels minimums and others maximums? Do you choose how to list them?

Minimum and maximum claims for each nutrient are established by AAFCO. The only necessary claims a pet food must make are for Crude Protein, Fat, Fiber, and Moisture.* Protein is always a minimum claim* Fat is always a minimum claim* Fiber is always a maximum claim* Moisture is always a maximum claimWhile these are the only nutrients mandated by AAFCO to carry min/max claims, ash may voluntarily be listed, but must be listed as a maximum guarantee. Any vitamins, minerals or live microorganisms (probiotics) may be labeled with a minimum guarantee. We're proud to be 1 of the only pet food manufacturers who are able to include guaranteed levels of probiotics on our dry food recipes. Probiotics can help improve digestion and immune system function.

  • Puppy loves them!

    By on

My 12 week old Great Dane loves these treats . With these she has a toy ball treat dispenser that we but these treats in since they are the crunchy ones and she rolls the ball following behind it to catch treats as they come out , it’s a fun game for her and nice for us knowing she’s eating quality treats .

  • Perfect for Furbo

    By on

These are the perfect size and consistency for our Furbo dog treat dispenser/camera. It is also a bonus that my Yorkies already eat the Wellness brand grain-free small breed dog food, so it fits nicely into their diet. They also love these treats which is most important!

  • Major Wellness Crunchy Puppy Bites

    By on

Major prefers the Wellness Chewy treats. He's still a puppy, so for now I give him 1 every other day and he eats it but not like he eats the soft chewy treats.

  • Great ingredients

    By on

I learned from a breeder to look for the best ingredients in dog food and treats. I chose this treat because the main and first listed ingredient was chicken. My puppy wasn't use to this consistency of being crunchy so it took a while for her to really like them. Chewy.com sells several products with top quality ingredients. I've always had great treatment from them and their shipping is incredible.

  • What rating is less that 1 star?.

    By on

terrible - none of my 6 dogs will go near these - my dogs will eat anything that I feed by hand - apple, appricot, egg, cheese, any meat, green veetables, raw vegetables. cooked vegetables, bread, crackers, dog treats - but they will not eat these even mixed up with canned food - their favorite thing. They hate them! Have never turned away from any treat. I want a full refund plus shipping.
