What is the shelf life of Wellness Natural Pet Food?

Wellness dry foods have an expiration of 18 months from date of manufacture. Wellness canned foods have an expiration of 3 years from date of manufacture. Dog & cat plastic have an expiration of 2 years from date of manufacture.

What does "natural" pet food mean?

Natural means we use ingredients that are derived from plants, animals and minerals in our recipes and that Wellness pet food contains no artificial preservatives or colors.

Why do your products sometimes vary in size, shape, color, texture or aroma?

Wellness products are natural, and as a result, you may experience product that looks slightly different in texture, color, shape, aroma and consistency from time to time. This is a function of natural products in general, but also raw material fluctuations and the manufacturing process. Please be assured that even though the product may look different from batch to batch, its superior nutritional value, palatability and safety does not change.

Why are some Guaranteed Analysis (GA) levels minimums and others maximums? Do you choose how to list them?

Minimum and maximum claims for each nutrient are established by AAFCO. The only necessary claims a pet food must make are for Crude Protein, Fat, Fiber, and Moisture.* Protein is always a minimum claim* Fat is always a minimum claim* Fiber is always a maximum claim* Moisture is always a maximum claimWhile these are the only nutrients mandated by AAFCO to carry min/max claims, ash may voluntarily be listed, but must be listed as a maximum guarantee. Any vitamins, minerals or live microorganisms (probiotics) may be labeled with a minimum guarantee. We're proud to be 1 of the only pet food manufacturers who are able to include guaranteed levels of probiotics on our dry food recipes. Probiotics can help improve digestion and immune system function.

  • Great ingredients

    By on

I learned from a breeder to look for the best ingredients in dog food and treats. I chose this treat because the main and first listed ingredient was chicken. My puppy wasn't use to this consistency of being crunchy so it took a while for her to really like them. Chewy.com sells several products with top quality ingredients. I've always had great treatment from them and their shipping is incredible.

  • My puppy isn't a fan

I bought these to use to train my puppy. About half the time, she'll smell it and walk off. If she does eat it, she eats it really slow and doesn't seem like she really enjoys it much at all. It might just be because they are chicken flavor. She seems to much prefer lamb flavor and favors the lamb puppy treats I bought her much more. I'm sure these are fine treats, I just have a spoiled pup!

  • What rating is less that 1 star?.

terrible - none of my 6 dogs will go near these - my dogs will eat anything that I feed by hand - apple, appricot, egg, cheese, any meat, green veetables, raw vegetables. cooked vegetables, bread, crackers, dog treats - but they will not eat these even mixed up with canned food - their favorite thing. They hate them! Have never turned away from any treat. I want a full refund plus shipping.

  • Yummy goodies

    By on

These treats are perfect for training. They come in different shapes, don't have any foul smell and are not oily or don't leave your hands smelling of dog food. Also since they come in a zip lock bag, you can just carry this bag anywhere. It's really handy. My dog loves chicken as much as he loves carrots and these were the perfect treats for him.

  • Love hate relationship

these are great crunchy treats, especially love the DHA for puppies and that they are made with fruits and veggies. However our pup can no longer have chicken, would still recommend for training.

I bought the soft puppy bites for my two corgis and they love the taste. I wanted another type of treat for them so I bought the crunchy ones as well. The also love these treats and they don't have as strong of a smell as the soft ones.
