Dogs over 100 lbs: Add 1/4 cup per additional 10 lbs.
Combination Feeding: If feeding with Wellness wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/4 cup for every 6 oz of wet food.
For pregnant or nursing dogs: Since DHA is transferred to puppies in mother’s milk, we recommend feeding this during pregnancy and nursing. When pregnant, feed up to 50% more food according to body weight for 12 mos. For nursing dogs, allow her to eat at will.
Every puppy is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size, activity level, breed and environment. Please use feeding guidelines as an initial recommendation and adjust as needed.
It is important to slowly transition your puppy from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5 - 7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.

Nutrition for Large Breed Dogs
With greater size, there is more muscle to support and keep strong, so Wellness Complete Health Large Breed recipes use more protein and feature Wellness' Wellflex® system of glucosamine hydrochloride and chondroitin sulfate to support healthy joints. Additionally, a bigger, rounder kibble helps promote proper chewing time in larger mouths.

Fresh, Whole Food Ingredients
These recipes contain no meat by-products, artificial colors, flavorings, preservatives, corn, wheat or soy.

GROUND BARLEY
Extremely beneficial for diabetic pet diets due to its unique nutritional make-up, modest amounts of slowly digested starch and the soluble fiber ß-glucan.

SWEET POTATOES
Excellent source of complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and beta carotene. The starch in sweet potatoes converts to sugar easily and provides quick energy.

CARROTS
Excellent source of fiber and minerals and a good natural source of beta carotene, an antioxidant essential for neutralizing free radicals.

TOMATOES
Great source of vitamin C, vitamin E and potassium and especially rich in the carotenoid lycopene, which is an important antioxidant known to promote good health.

APPLES
Good source of antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin C and dietary fiber, which helps with joint problems and promotes overall gastrointestinal health.

GROUND FLAXSEED
Rich in Omega-3 fatty acids which improve the shine of the pet's coat and high in fiber which helps move food through the digestive system.

I wanted to switch my 5mo puppy to a better quality food than what he is on, he normally gobbles his food down! I tried to switch to this and he won't touch it! He eats anything and won't touch this, I'm not sure what the issue is. Now I'm left with a 30lb bag of pricey food gone to waste!

I picked this food based off of recommendations from a website called dogfoodadvisor, so i trust its pretty good food for its purpose. But my dog did not like it. Until he was switched to adult food his food dish was almost constantly filled, since it suggested such a large amount for him and he didnt like it that much to begin with. But, ignoring if he liked it or not, his health was good the entire time he was on it. He had good energy and focus, his coat was shiny, his poop seemed healthy and fairly consistent, and he gained back the weight he had lost before i adopted him (three weeks of kennel cough turned him into a very skinny boy) The price for the amount was also very good. We were looking for a large breed puppy food with grain due to recent research about including grain in puppy/dog food. This product was our best option and our puppy loves it.

My Vet said I had to get a Large Breed puppy food and it had to say Large breed on the bag-I'd gone back and forth trying to find one good for the skin because his was so dry. The combination of Salmon with this is really great for my puppy-hardly any flakes and his teeth are so white and his coat is shiny I love it!

Buddy loves it!
By Heather on Aug 11, 2019
With the recent data regarding grain free diets we decided to switch our then 6 month old puppy from a high protein grain free brand to Wellness Large Breed Puppy. We mixed the foods at first and within just a few days made the full transition to Wellness. Our puppy did not experience any tummy upset, he obviously loved the new taste and his redness and rash (which previously thought to be an outdoor allergy) cleared up within days!

Not consistent ?
By Preysmum on Aug 23, 2019
I ordered this last time and it was good, puppy ate it well, but this time when I poured it into my food bin (clean and it seals) it smelled ... weird? it's not like rancid but really stinky and fishy smelling. Still had some in a baggy in the camping bag and it doesn't smell anything like the same.

When you google "best puppy food", this is the top dry food that comes up. It's most healthy, uses the best ingredients, and has the right vitamin & mineral rations for growing pups. My puppy enjoys eating this food (she did not like her previous dog food). Will def be buying this again and again
