Too bad, they loved it. Then a few months ago, we noticed different packaging. Then we see the texture has changed. Cats won’t eat it. Wasn’t broken, not sure why they changed the formula. They’ve lost our business.
Unfortunately, as others have noted, Wellness moved all of their manufacturing to Thailand, and with that move came a very noticeable change in texture/consistency, possibly also taste but I obviously have no way of knowing whether there's an issue with that. Either way, our cat refuses to eat it. We've already switched to another brand. Kind of concerning in terms of quality control since this is such a huge issue across all of their different varieties/flavors.
She loved this, I’ve been trying to find a healthy ingredient cat food that she will eat and she loves this. It’s been a struggle but here it is. Time to try other flavors.
My cats are very picky eaters and they love this cat food.
Vet said to change Buddy Boy to wet food because he is gaining weight and wet has less calories than dry. I will still give him dry food in the morning for his teeth. He likes the wet better than the dry.
I have four cats, ages 16, 14, 4, 3. They all Love it.
Like others who've reviewed this product recently, I'm disappointed that Wellness has made this food inedible. Others have pointed out the change in the can and the fact that there's no gravy anymore. But there's also been a substantial change in the recipe. Dried ground peas used to be the 6th largest ingredient, after all the meat ingredients. But now it's the 4th largest ingredient. And carrots, which used to be the 8th largest ingredient, is now the 6th largest ingredient. In other words, they've turned this into meat-flavored dried ground peas and carrots. That's probably why there's no gravy: the dried ground peas soak up all the gravy. I've written Wellness to complain, and I also called them. They may still put "Grain Free" on the label, but my cat does not view more ground dried peas as an improvement. Now on the hunt for another food.
I recently bought 4 case (5.5 oz/12 cans per pack) of the Chicken Entree. My boy is a picky eater and had previously loved eating this food. However, in my recent order, it seems that Wellness has changed their formula. Almost no gravy and the chicken is minced instead of cubed. My boy will not even touch the food.
I have been buying this food for my picky eater for at least 3 years. My little girl has always gobbled it up, until the last order in late December. I noticed the can shape change, which wasn’t a problem, until I opened the can. I noticed that it smelled different and looked darker than usual. My picky eater took one smell and walked away, and would not touch it. My other cat, who literally will eat anything, did the same… one whiff and walked away. I opened several cans and they were all rejected. It’s so disappointing that the manufacturer has obviously tried to cut costs, yet it is still quite expensive to the consumer. Looking for a new, healthy chicken with gravy for the picky girl. I still love Chewy!!
