To Feed as Primary Meal: Divide the daily amount listed into 2 daily servings.

Combination Feeding: If feeding in combination with dry food, replace each 1/4 cup of dry food with 1/4 cup of Make It Fresh. Note calories and adjust other food and snacks accordingly to maintain ideal weight.

Every dog is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary by age, size, activity level, breed and environment. Please use feeding guidelines as an initial recommendation and adjust as needed.

Transition Instructions

The best way to transition onto a new food is to gradually introduce the food by mixing it with the old diet. This is particularly important when the new food is much tastier than the old, as is the case with Wellness. Mixing the food will allow the dog to acclimate to the new taste and not overindulge on the new food

When food transition is not an option, there are a few ways to ensure a good transition:

  • Feed multiple, smaller volume meals. This will decrease the likelihood of over-consumption and provide for a more consistent, firm stool. This is an especially good option for puppies and senior dogs.

  • Add clean warm water to the food to help soften it.

  • Add a digestive aid such a boiled brown rice or sugar-free canned pumpkin

  • Nothing like the other dehydrated dog food I ever bought. Too powdery!

    By on

I decided to try this brand because it was a little cheaper than the Sojo brand that my dogs love. However, the product was not as expected. It was too powdery (too fine) and it took much more "powder" to make the food solid enough so my dogs would finally ate them. In the end... I didn't really save money from switching the Sojo brand to this. My dogs also didn't show any enthutiasm like they did on the Sojo brand.

  • Pricy but good

    By on

My dogs love this stuff. They can't wait to eat, and one of my dogs is a very picky eater. Their coats have improved, they don't shed as much and my old man has more energy. The one thing I have to mention is that it takes longer to re hydrate than what the instructions say. If it wasn't for that, this food would be perfect.

  • Excellant food

    By on

First time in using freeze dried raw food. I mix it with the wellness trufood kibble. My 9 year old Australian Male Shepherd LOVES this food. He was sniffing the box it came shipped in and went crazy asking for it. He's been on this for over a month. No problems.

My dog really likes this Raw Freeze Dried Food but when I opened the box, the Salmon bag had a puncture and there was powdery substance all over my entire order.

  • More powder than food

    By on

My dogs like it but there is more powder than actual pieces of meat or vegetables. It makes a good gravy to add in with food, but as for a food replacement not a chance.

  • Awesome dog food

This is a great add in or stand alone dog food. I use it as an add in and make more of a gravy and they gobble it up. It has really good ingredients and they love it

  • Great mix in

    By on

I know it can be an actual meal, but I feel it works better as a mix in. Easy to make and my dog loves it.
