Where is this food produced? Is farm-raised salmon used in the food?
Answer by • Jul 12, 2019
Weruva manufactures their formulas in a human grade USDA certified facility in Thailand. The salmon in their canned cat foods is sourced from Pacific waters.
Is this packaging safe for a hyperthyroid cat? I've been told to avoid pop top cans because the cans are lined with BPA (or something like that) that will create problems. Thank you.
Answer by • May 28, 2019
Weruva cans are BPA non intent.
What is the sodium content on a dry matter basis?

A Surprise Hit!
Tried a few cans of Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Goldie Lox from the pet store -- and then a few more. My cats are okay with tuna as an ingredient, but salmon has only been "okay", until this. So I bought a case from Chewy and they're happy with it as part of their weekly rotation of foods.

Dense and good value
This is chopped meat without any puddles of water or gravy as many other brands contain. This small can goes a long way, and my Siamese likes it a lot. I let her lick the empty can and she stays occupied with that because the can's shape is narrower than the normal 5.5 oz. flat cans. Even though it looks smaller, it's more food - 6 ounces. I will re-order. I would like to try the other Weruva flavors, but this is working well, so I will stay with this for a while longer. Very cute and clever labeling, worth reading even if you don't buy.

Cats love! repeat purchase
I have a pair of fussy 16 year old kitties with medical issues, and am always on lookout for new foods they would eat. This is my repeat purchase! Seems to be real food, and they love it. What more can I ask!

Yet more tuna from Weruva.
Our cats really like this one, but I've discovered that it's yet another variety of food Weruva is sneaking tuna into as one of the first ingredients.
It's really difficult to limit how much tuna my cats eat in a given week when Weruva puts it in practically all of their flavors.
I guess we'll be branching out into other brands now.

My 3 cats said no to this recipe
I offered this food to my 3 cats on several occasions, and each time they turned up their noses and walked away.

Cats say no
Smells and looks fine to me. The cats love salmon but gave a big no to this. Tried to get them used to it, used 3 cans, but ended up giving the rest away.

Different Formula / Quality Control
I have been ordering this food for the last year without issue, aside from the occasional dented cans. This latest shipment was particularly banged up, but more importantly, the food itself is noticeably different in appearance and texture. The food is much darker than previous packages, and noticeably more gelatinous, with a strange film at the top of the can. My cat is not enthusiastic to eat it, unlike previous shipments. Really disappointed.
