I hate litter with odor added, what does it smell like?

Weruva's cat litter is made from Hinoki wood and Green Tea. As Hinoki wood is from the cedar family, the litter has a light wood and tea scent. Hinoki wood is excellent at absorbing moisture and should keep the air nice and fresh.
Is the hinoki wood treated with chemicals and/or has it been pressure treated?

The product does not contain any chemicals nor are any chemicals added. The wood is also inspected prior to cutting to ensure it does not contain chemicals, varnishes or paints.
What scoop is best with weruva cat litter?

Even Better than Before the Shortage

I loved this litter when I first got my kittens in early 2020. It has no real smell other than a pleasant woodiness. It clumps well and is easy to clean. Then it went out of stock for almost a year! I tried another major wood litter brand and it was ok but not great. Finally Weruva litter came back into stock, and they appear to have changed it with smaller wood pellets. It is even better! The litter clumps to the liquids, but you don't waste extra when scooping. I love this and hope it never goes out of stock again.

so glad it's back!

This was out of stock for a long time during the pandemic and I missed it. It's the best litter for controlling odors. We have four cats and this litter can easily deal with the smell and it lasts much longer than other non-clay litter. It does get dusty/sandy and it requires a bigger scoop, but it's worth it.

Best litter out there

Weruva Tea Potty is the best litter I have ever used. It has a natural and mild smell out of the bag. The larger sized pieces are easier to see and clean up should my cat track some around the house. It is not dusty and it lasts a long time. I do not loose much of the litter when I scoop like other brands. I really really hope that this litter becomes available again. It has been out of stock for a very long time and I worry that the manufacturer won't be able to continue making it.

Way Dustier Than Advertised

I had high hopes for this litter as I am replacing one that has granules. I was looking to reduce tracking and dust while maintaining a good clump and scent. I also wanted something that covered the scent of my cats' waste. I like the weight of the litter and it doesn't smell awful like some of them. I don't think it smells especially good, but I can live with it. I started slowly by topping off the previous litter with a layer of Weruva. The cats were suspect of the new way. I got to the point in one box where I needed to clean it out and sanitize it, so I replaced it with only Weruva. So far neither of my girls have set foot in that box. When I poured the bag of Weruva into the litter box, I was overtaken by a hug cloud of dust. The tracking is better but the dust is not. Moving on to try another....

Odor free litter - finally!!

Tea Potty is the best litter we have used for our cat. It smells like a sweet, wooden fragrance, but is natural, and it absolutely covers cat pee odors. Before, we used the recycled newspaper pellets, but those didn’t clump and smelled horrible. The Tea Potty wood pellets actually clump! The pellets are smaller so they can track in the house, but we have now gotten a mat to put in front of the litter box and that helps my cat dust off her paws a little. The bag is not as heavy as clay litter, and since I have learned how clay is unsustainably sourced, I’m glad to use a more eco friendly litter like this one. Also, Chewy has the best deal on Tea Potty litter, especially free shipping if you order is over a certain amount. Other stores don’t give free shipping on heavy items like cat litter. I have two bags on auto ship every couple of months and it’s great! I can’t find Tea Potty in stores. Thanks, Chewy!

Better Than the Rest

My cats are seniors...and they've been spoiled their entire lives. I have tried SO MANY different types of litter. I keep coming back to this one, despite the price tag. It clumps without being sticky. It doesn't smell, as long as you clean the litter box regularly. It is soft on paws and doesn't get stuck between toes. Very little dust. It doesn't track. Use a good scooper and you're golden. I've tried so many lower price litters, but the only one that comes close is premium tofu-type litter, and that's just as expensive and cats don't like it as much. With my cats being up in age, it's time to give them food and litter they LOVE, consistently. No more trying to save a buck. It's Tea Potty from here on out.

Nice but dusty

Really nice smell and clumping action. Doesn't track through house as much as standard litter, cats like it better than large pine product. Bad dust everywhere though, gets in eyes, nose when scooping.

The BEST!!!

Weruva cat litter is the best litter there is in my opinion! I have a small cat, she's 16 and is only 6 pounds...forever a kitten...and she's had allergy type problems for so long. We've gone through so many different types of cat litter and finally found the one that's made her better. Most cat litter is so highly concentrated with dust that when a cat is in the litter box and they hide their stuff the dust gets in their nose and eyes and is so terrible...manufacturers shouldn't be able to allow any dust in them! Anyway, since we started using Weruva she's been able to breathe easier, no more coughing and straining and sneezing yahoo!!!! I will never use another cat litter again! Thank you Weruva and thank you Chewy for carrying this brand!

Best Cat Litter Ever

My puppy liked to get into my cat's litter box and eat the clay litter and ended up with stomach problems. We were constantly fighting to keep her out of the box. I did some research and found the Classic Fresh Scented Clumping Wood Cat Litter! I switched to the Classic Fresh Scented Clumping Wood Cat Litter. It is so easy to use, and my cat loves it. Ginger, my dog, does not even go near the litter box. I love once-a-day cleaning! NO smelly litter! Just a fresh mountain air smell. Thank you Weruva.
