And for an added benefit, it's also formulated with a fresh aroma to help keep your home smelling great!

Key Benefits
  • Hinoki wood may help resist humidity, which can help stop the growth of mold and bacteria.
  • Green Tea contains catechins, which are compounds that help naturally stop the growth of bacteria and odor.
  • Weruva’s Natural Quick Clumping Cat Litter is both clay-free and grain-free.
  • Low-dust formula helps you and your feline friend breathe with ease.
  • Fromulated with a fresh aroma, to help keep your home smelling clean.
Precautions

Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.

Instructions

Start with 2-4 inches of litter in the box. We recommend filling on the higher side for multi-cat households. Scoop at least once a day, and the more cats using the box, the more frequently we recommend scooping. After removing waste, refill the litter box as necessary to maintain the 2-4 inch level. Maintaining levels helps with clumping and scooping.

Additional Instructions

  • Only dispose of used cat litter in trash. Do not flush, bury or dispose of it outdoors, in gutters or storm drains to avoid environmental contamination.
  • Not for internal use. Not meant for use as compost or as a traction aid.
  • Store in a cool, dry place. Product filled by weight; some settling may occur.
Transition Instructions

Some cats may adjust to Weruva Hinoki & Green Tea Litter without issue, and some cats will need some time. If you believe your cat may need some time, sprinkle as little as a thin layer atop your current litter or replace as much as a third of your current litter. Once your cat begins to use the litter, you can gradually increase the amount of Weruva litter. And when you feel the time is right, empty the litter box completely and refill with Weruva only.

FAQ

Why Hinoki Wood and Green Tea?

Bacteria are often the culprit when it comes to litter box odors. Hinoki Wood and Green Tea team up to suppress bacteria and odor naturally. Hinoki Wood – Hinoki Wood, or Japanese Cypress, has long been a prized wood in Japan for the construction of temples, shrines and even hot tubs due its resistance to humidity. By curbing humidity, Hinoki naturally suppresses the growth of mold and bacteria which in turn helps control odor. Green Tea – Green Tea contains catechins, compounds with antioxidant properties. The catechins naturally help suppress the growth of bacteria and odor.

Is Hinoki Wood a Sustainable Resource?

We love mother earth just as we love our pets, so sustainability and stewardship of our resources are paramount. To ensure the responsible use of Hinoki, the wood we use is a salvaged by-product of other industries.

    Worth the price!

    By on

I have tried many litters (fresh step no clump, clumping, tidy cats, and pretty litter). And this by far blows them away. I’m on day 20 with 3 cats and cannot smell any bad smelling odor. It’s says last 17days for 3 cats but it can clearly last longer if you scoop every day. It does clump but there will be times the clump fell apart but no big deal, it was still easy to scoop out. This litter smells great and doesn’t have any perfumes that tend to be too strong. It’s so light weight that easy to carry the large bag. Don’t hesitate, try it!!

The Best Clumping Wood Litter. Period.

    By on

I've tried them all, had a kitten that would eat the clay litters, so I tried all the other natural clumping litters, the grass litters, okocat pellets, etc., and Weruva is just right, the size of the pellets is just right, it clumps just right, but it's kinda pricey. but it is the best litter I've used by far.

    Favorite litter ever!

    By on

This litter is my favorite litter I've tried so far. It is the best smelling litter I've ever tried. It does not clump as well as other litters but I don't mind because it makes up for that with it's other great qualities. I like that it's lightweight. And it's easy to sweep up when my cats fling it out of a litter box. The smell of a freshly opened bag reminds me of plain cheerios. It smells fine after being scooped even if the litter in the box is a week or more old. Much better than clay litter that stinks after a few days even if you scoop twice a day. I also feel good about using this litter because I think it's a healthier choice for my cats and the environment. I highly recommend this This litter is my favorite litter I've tried so far. My litterbox hallway smells like... NOTHING

    By on

Three litterboxes in a row, shared by five cats, in a small upstairs hall, is usually a recipe for stinkpocalypse. I've used many different litters and box technologies, with varying success, but this comes the closest to a perfect litter I've found. Low tracking (not perfect, but low), outstanding odor control, clumps are not perfectly hard - but it's OK because you can just mix the sawdust back in to the pellets and you get no smell. One bag lasts about a week divided between three boxes. ALL the thumbs up.

    Nice natural litter

We just started using this and are very pleased. Nice fresh smell without perfumes! Cats took to it right away. Does scatter a little but easy to clean up.

    Doesn't clump

    By on

I love the smell and the concept of the natural litter but it does not clump at all. Just turns into mush and falls apart while scooping. Good sized bag for the price. I scoop my litter boxes a lot so I would probably buy this again if it was on sale but not full price

    Odor Free Litter!!!

    By on

I have tried countless litters and this is hands down one of the best litters out on the market today! It suppresses odors better than any litter out there. Yes it tracks, but what litter doesn't? It is easier to pick up the little pellets with a hand vac. It tracks less than other litters. It clumps the urine and even poop, when it isn't so solid. I can actually walk in the door and not get hit with the poop smell. The litter does have a fresh smell to it. The one negative is if the urine gets to the side or bottom, the litter does tend to stick to the box and you have to scrape it off. To me, it isn't that big of a deal. It still clumps. I highly recommend this litter. I can go I have tried countless litters and this is hands down one of the best litters out on the market today! It suppresses odors better than any litter out there.
