    Worth the price!

I have tried many litters (fresh step no clump, clumping, tidy cats, and pretty litter). And this by far blows them away. I’m on day 20 with 3 cats and cannot smell any bad smelling odor. It’s says last 17days for 3 cats but it can clearly last longer if you scoop every day. It does clump but there will I have tried many litters (fresh step no clump, clumping, tidy cats, and pretty litter). And this by far blows them away. It does clump but there will be times the clump fell apart but no big deal, it was still easy to scoop out. This litter smells great and doesn’t have any perfumes that tend to be too strong. It’s so light weight that easy to carry the large bag. Don’t hesitate, try it!! … more

    Nope. Not for us.

By Scar on May 28, 2019

I really, REALLY wanted to like this litter. No dust, and with the larger pieces, less tracking. The smell is good, although the husband doesn't like it. I have 2 boxes; one is completely changed to Weruva, and the other is half and half with Dr. Elsey's litter. The new box was used exactly twice I really, REALLY wanted to like this litter. I have 2 boxes; one is completely changed to Weruva, and the other is half and half with Dr. Elsey's litter. The new box was used exactly twice in the last 6 days. I was not impressed with the clumping. The girls dig down to the last inch of the other box to reach the clay. All toes down from them. Unfortunately I bought 3 bags, so will try to salvage them in some manner. … more

    Smells Nice

    By on

I like this litter... but my cats don't. They like the feel of the sandy litter on their royal little feet. Also, this does not clump on the rare occasion they deign to use it. Is there NO litter that's renewable, lightweight, good odor control, clumping, and NOT scented?

    Doesn't clump

    By on

I love the smell and the concept of the natural litter but it does not clump at all. Just turns into mush and falls apart while scooping. Good sized bag for the price. I scoop my litter boxes a lot so I would probably buy this again if it was on sale but not full price

Prefer Next Gen Green Tea Litter over this one

    By on Top 25 Contributor

At the time I am writing this review, Weruva litter is a little cheaper than Next Gen Green Tea or the Cypress scent litter...However, I definitely prefer Next Gen. I think it tracks less and has a much more pleasant "green tea" smell versus the Weruva. I also think Next Gen clumps better. I tried Weruva because it was still natural but a less expensive option.....Back to Next Gen for me....

Bag was ripped open upon arrival

    By on

The bag had a huge slash across the front when my package arrived. The litter itself it kind of a pain to scoop since it is bigger than normal litter it does not filter through the holes in the scoop well. I must say there is little to no tracking with this unlike regular litter, also little to no dust. Odor control is pretty good. Overall good product would buy again.

    used to be good

    By on

Not sure if its the way its handles but the litter was great for many months. Now i receive it and its overly crushed. By this is mean the whole litter box is dusty. My cats come out full of dust. Either the way its made changed or its being crushed at the warehouse.

    Slave to tracking cleanup

You need a special scoop to sift with, otherwise you lose too much litter. It is too costly to waste any. Next, I have to sweep around the box and about 6 feet out for the litter that is tracked at least 3-4 times a day. I used to use world's greatest till, I found out they use gmo corn treated with roundup and I am pretty sure they also use something toxic to keep it from tracking because, there was always a "coating" on my cats fur that, became slimey when their fur got wet. This litter doesn't leave a coating on my cat's fur, it doesn't smell from cat poop or pee. It also is a way different type of clumping. This is why you need a scoop with larger holes. It is a really hard choice to find a safe litter. Most all the other litters are so toxic to us and anything else.I am just going to have to get used to sweeping thru out the day. It is a great litter, just all the facets of the clean up is what causes me not to totally recommend it … more

I really wanted to like this litter

    By on Top 100 Contributor

I'm on a search for natural litter instead of clay litter because of allergies mostly. I was so excited to use this coz Ive been using their products ever since I got my kitten. When I got this bag I immediately poured a whole box out and sprinkled some on a clean box of clay litter. For awhile my cat wouldn't touch either boxes. It smelled really strong when I poured it out and while I may have liked it, my kitty did not. I dont know if he had a problem with the pellets or the smell more. I did a clump test with just water, it expands once it's hit with moisture but doesn't clump well if you scoop immediately and try to sift; the clumps just break apart. Really wanted to love this.

I love the Weruva brand. I use their food and its top quality. Now I'm not saying this litter is low quality, just not what I want in a litter. Pros: Initial fresh pour is a nice smell. Cats had no problems adjusting, they took to it immediately. Clumps ok if it is allowed to sit for a while. No dust, at all, zilch. Cons: It tracks EVERYWHERE. It's so horrible. If it doesn't sit, the pee clumps will break apart and are impossible to clean because you need a special scoop just to even use with this litter. For me, absolutely zero odor control. It smells good initially but the smell dissipates after a day and then it's just total cat box smell, even cleaning twice a day. Overall I love the Weruva brand. I use their food and its top quality. I hate that it has zero odor control and it tracks EVERYWHERE and little pellets on my feet drive me absolutely nuts. It's on my furniture, my rugs, my kitchen floors, in my bathroom rug, my bed. Also, because pee clumps break apart and through the litter scoop slits, sometimes it's dirty litter being tracked. Won't buy this again and I strongly suggest you look elsewhere before you waste the amount of money you will be wasting on this. Just wish it worked better because I love the brand and that it's sustainably sourced. … more
