Senior's Cat Mana
My old girl is starting to have kidney issues at age 20. While she will pick at the prescription food, she wasn't getting enough to eat. I did some research and this style was touted as kidney friendly. She cleans her plate every time and seems in great health!
It's a win
I initially got this for my senior cat as he is showing signs of having difficulty digesting hard kibble. He took to this wet food immediately and my other 2 cats also showed interest in wanting to try it out too. So everyone gets a tablespoon and appears very happy at mealtime. I also like that it doesn't have a strong smell like some wet cat foods that I have purchased in the past.
kidney cat - ate it for a bit
I have a cat with end stage polycystic kidney disease and this food was one I hadn't tried as he has days where he just won't eat. He loved it for a couple of days until he didn't but I have another cat, so she gets whatever he stops eating. It's a nice change from all the poultry based weruva foods he eats.
My three 15-year old cats love it. They’ve become selective and want mostly fish. Glad I could find a quality food without chicken that they’ll eat.
Great for kidney diet and food allergies
Back in July, my 5 year older Maine Coon had a urinary episode (crystals) so he was switched to a prescription kidney diet. Well, he has food sensitivities/allergies, so after a few weeks being on the RX diet, he was itching his ears so badly that he got a hematoma. He had the hematoma operated on and his bloodwork indicated that his creatinine had risen slightly. As a result of that, I had to put him on an RX kidney diet. With his food allergies, I was at a complete loss. I knew I had to protect his kidneys and get his creatinine levels in check, but I also wanted to be conscious of his allergies. After much research, I stumbled upon this food. Not only does he love this food, but it’s also helped his kidneys and didn’t trigger his allergies. My 3 year old rag doll loves this food as well. I feel good about switching them both to this food because they love it and it’s been beneficial for their health (most importantly)
Good but my cat won’t eat it
It’s good food, my current cat just doesn’t want it. She’ll eat it because she has to, if it’s left there. (Cus she squawks at me for food) But it’s not her go to choice. She’s a weirdo. Which is sad, since it’s so expensive. Some of it gets left to get stale.
CAT LOVES THE FOOD. i HAVE NOT TRIED IT PERSONALY.
Low Phosphorous Food
My male kitty just changed over to a kidney diet. I mix Weruva Truluxe Steak Frites with the kidney food to make it more palatable. It works well so far. I would give it 5 stars but the chopped potato and carrots are unnecessary fillers. I take them out before I give my cat the food.
Comes up as "preferred" for kidney/low phos diet needs
Bought this bc it comes recommended in a lot of research I do for "best food for kidney/urine problem" diets. While I've not had success (yet) with them eating it directly, I mix it with the Poly BBQ (which they already love), and always add a little extra water to all my wet foods bc I'm trying to push extra water whenever I can. They eat it up. NOTE: Don't add so much water you dilute flavor away. But push water whenever you can. All cats need extra water when possible...wet food over dry all day long. I am hopeful that maybe I'll be able to get them to eat Steak Frites directly at some point. If you bought a case, and your cat doesn't take to steak, mix it with something they do like just a little at a time. There's still great benefit from the beef and urine/kidney issues. And Weruva...please send us coupons, your food is expensive. :-)
Something he will eat.
I purchased all the prescription brands and flavors for my 16 year old that was just diagnosed with K/D. Finally I have found something that is kidney friendly that he will eat.
