Unclear on use. This was suggested by Chewy staff (knowledgeable! Great support). When it arrived it looks like an open cup, so you put the treats in it and the puppy knocked it over and they all spill out.

Please click on the attached photo to reference how to use the toy.

Can I use this for my 10 week old puppy? I’d like to freeze her meals in this to make it more challenging and fun for her to eat her food
Answer by ChewyMar 02, 2021
No dog toy is indestructible. Choose only toys that are the appropriate shape and size for your dog and always supervise your dog’s use of this toy. If damage occurs, please discontinue use of the toy immediately.

What are the dimensions for each size, and how much wet food fits in each? Trying to figure out which size is appropriate for my dog if I'm only getting one to feed wet food.
Answer by ChewyMay 25, 2021
The large Toppl it’s 4 inches tall and has a capacity of ¾ cup. The small Toppl is 3 inches tall and has a capacity of ¼ cup.

This toy just tips over unless you buy both sizes?
Answer by ChewyDec 14, 2020
This toy will tip over by itself as well as when put together with the second piece. It traps treats with its inner ridges and tips over.

Perfect for border collie frozen treat-sicle

Super enrichment for a 12-y-o border collie who is not destructive nor a terribly strong chewer. The little silicone fingers at the bottom hold goodies like frozen peas, crumbs from the bottom of his treat pouch, bits of meat, etc. I fill the rest of the cavity with layers of canned pumpkin and greek yogurt, into which I have mixed more of all of the above tasty bits. Then I pop it into the freezer for later use as a surprise treat for settling in an open crate. Licking the contents out of the Toppl takes him 15-20 minutes. Licking behavior is calming and best done on a toy like this, rather than a leg or paw. Of course my dog gets a significant amount of outdoor exercise every day, along with several play sessions, as well as several brief sessions of positive reinforcement training that keep him intellectually stimulated as well. This toy is not a replacement but a fun adjunct to exercise, play and training. It relieves boredom for our dog while we catch an NBA game, and leaves him feeling quite satisfied with his evening. Note: it is insane that this comments section does not allow an accent on pumpkin puree, nor quotation marks or even so much as a possessive or word contraction apostrophe. All are apparently considered (quote) emojis (end quote), which is disallowed, and means re-typing an entire review. [irritated emoji-face]

detailed review

After a lot of consideration I bought both the large and small of toppl. Background: I have a 9 month border collie/cattle dog/lab mix. She’s a strong chewer but not super destructive. She is very food motivated. She has A LOT of treat toys and I like to use treat feeders to giver her meals in to burn off some energy. As a meal feeder: You need both sizes if you’re going to use this for dry kibble. Otherwise it’ll all just fall out. But for the price and the amount of time it takes her to get the kibble out and the amount it holds (1/2 c of dry), it’s not worth it imo. Also screwing the top to the bottom is not nearly as easy as the video shows and sometimes I really need to pull them apart. She has an orange ball with indents that holds all of her meal (1 cup dry) that takes longer and was MUCH cheaper. The larger toppl is pretty good for freezing kibble though. Easier than a large kong bc it holds more and is less frustrating for her to get out. There is that hole on the side that’s nickle sized. I put either peanut butter to plug it up or I prefer plain canned pumpkin, freeze that, then fill with kibble and water. As a treat holder: separately they’re just too easy for my dog. The openings are huge and she just sticks her snout in and voila. Now I could smear peanut butter or pumpkin in there but I don’t give those to her a lot plus I think it would be messy but maybe not. And you can do that with a kong too. If you put them together and use smaller training sized treats so they fall out, that works better. TLDR; for my dog, the larger size works best as a frozen kibble feeder. Buying both was unnecessary.

Very Disappointed in product.

This is definitely not the fault of Chewy but in the manufacturer's description of it. My German Shorthair Pointer had this less than 5 minutes and tore it. I was quite disappointed as other West Paw products I have purchased were wonderful.

Cannot go wrong with a toppl.

We absolutely love the toppl! We have both the small and large sizes and several of each. They're great for a slow feeder as is for our little guy who's got about a brain cell and a half and are really wonderful frozen with Pumpkin's dinner. Sometimes we put two together and both dogs love that. Much easier to clean than others on the market and can be very versatile for different dogs (or growing puppies) ability and/or confidence levels. Obviously would buy again.

Toppl for the win

I love using these for my dog. The large toppl will last him an hour at least. It is safer to use than a kong as his tongue can not get suctioned into the feeder.

Great Start, Didn't Last

I bought this to go with the large dispensing toy. When joined they created a nice distraction for my 10 month old golden retriever. Once separated, tho, and the treats consumed, he continued to chew the toy and soon some bits of the toy were also consumed. Just hoping for a good 'out'come, if you know what I mean.

SO MUCH BETTER

I've used Kongs forever to keep my dogs busy but they are so difficult to fill. These toppls are an absolute game changer. SOOOOO easy to fill up and freeze.

Better than Kongs!

We love this toy! It's so much easier to fill than Kongs. I place a wine cork in the hole for freezing and remove before giving to my dog. This gives us the ability to top it off with liquids like salt-free broths. My goal is to eventually have 4 or 5 of these to keep on rotation.

Zogoflex treat dispenser

Great for freezing treats. Entertains Charles as he works at eating his frozen banana. Well made and durable. Charles is not an aggressive chewer but is definitely food driven
