    Keeping our teeth white

    These are a little too big for the average sheltie to use as a daily treat. The dogs love these and they last a good 20 minutes of aggressive chewing. I have 5 shelties ranging in age from 2 - 11, all of them have nice clean looking teeth and I credit Whimzees brand chewable treats with that. I have 5 shelties ranging in age from 2 - 11, all of them have nice clean looking teeth and I credit Whimzees brand chewable treats with that. I wish that the rice bones came in a smaller size because they are their favorites. For now I only give these once a week because of the large size, but the other whimzee chews in medium or small make a great daily teeth cleaning treat. … more

    Makes a mess. Sharp pieces

    At first I had thought this was better than the long softer sticks, because she would actually take these and chew on them instead of leaving them on the ground and ignoring them. But this leaves sharp fragments all over the floor as it shatters after our dog chews it apart. She doesn't really eat At first I had thought this was better than the long softer sticks, because she would actually take these and chew on them instead of leaving them on the ground and ignoring them. But this leaves sharp fragments all over the floor as it shatters after our dog chews it apart. She doesn't really eat it anymore, and just tears it apart like a chew toy and leaves it like shrapnel all over the place. So I end up having to clean up after her now, and am a little worried that the sharp pieces are actually not very safe. I supposed it's better than the chew toys that she gnaws the edges off of and ingests tiny pieces of. At least if she swallows these it's digestible. But it still leaves an enormous mess everywhere. Stubbed several housemembers' feet on the sharp pieces. I only let her play with these outside now, so that if she makes a mess it's outside and will eventually just disintegrate. … more
