  • She's a wanderer.....

So happy I bought this. My dog loves to take walks by herself. Now I get an alert when she leaves the wifi zone at the house. It's perfect. If she gets away I can track her movements by the minute. My last dog was the same. I've spent hours searching. Now, I can find this one within minutes. Battery life is about eight days for me. It tracks her movements in the house and gives me useful info about her habits and diets. I love all the info on the app. Multiple family members can track the same device. I'm completely satisfied with this purchase and recommend it to everyone.

  • Energetic GSP

We have a 5yr old German Shorthair who loves to hunt. We run her 4-5 days a week, minimum. BUT, that is not enough for her, so she jumps the fence to run and hunt more. She comes immediately when called, so we did not want to use a shock collar, but we needed to know when she escapes. The Whistle works perfectly for that purpose. Make sure you have good cell coverage in the areas where you will use this. Chewy's shipping was fast, and free for my item. Got it in 2 days, as promised.

  • Piece of mind!

Our dog is microchipped, and has never gotten out. However I was very concerned that someone might open the gate and she might escape and I wouldn't even know where to start looking for her. (Even if somebody did find her they still would need to bring her to a vet or an animal shelter in order for her to have the microchip scanned. I was afraid that she might get lost in a wooded area and never be found. Or that somebody may find her and keep her as their own pet.) This GPS tracker has given me peace of mind. I never worry about any of that stuff anymore. When used with the phone app, the GPS tells me where my puppy is at all times. If she leaves the house to go on a walk, I get a notification Our dog is microchipped, and has never gotten out. The unit itself needs to be charged for about an hour every 3 days. It lasts a long time and it's very secure on her harness. I am extremely happy with this purchase, and if we ever get a second dog, I will definitely buy another whistle tracker. … more

  • Lacks Key Features That Should Be Standard & Misleading Marketing

    By on

I bought this device off the assumptions I made from their marketing. I suppose I should have read the fine print. Problem 1) Monthly subscription required after you go to activate device Problem 2) You don't have reasonable control over safe zones. They give you a standard diameter that encoimpasses the entire block my house is on. You cannot make a smaller safe zone. So I won't be alerted until after my dog has left my neighborhood. Problem 3) Battery life is poor Problem 4) Customer service is aware of the shortfalls yet can provide no ETA n any improvements

  • Can't Wait For Her To Run Off Again

We rescued a Siberian Husky not knowing their propensity to wander off on there own. One minute she is there next us and the next minute gone on a walk about the neighborhood. It would take more than an hour of walking, riding the bike and driving the car while calling her name to find her. The day after receiving and charging our Whistle 3 my wife called in panic, Keesha ran off again! I put my phone on speaker, opened the app, hit track, she got in the car and I directed her down the next street and over the bridge (all shown in the app) where she parked the car. Between the first two houses on the left side of the street after the bridge (all shown on the map in the app) was a totally We rescued a Siberian Husky not knowing their propensity to wander off on there own. • Easy to set up

    By on

Thankfully I have not had to put it to the test but it was easy to set up. It will only work if there is wifi so places like my cabin in the woods may not work. I did track while he was on a walk and was impressed with the level of detail given.

  • Disappointed

    By on

I've had problems with this device maintaining connection to my wifi, even though I have a booster and the signal is strong throughout my home. As a result, it notifies me repeatedly (and by that I mean over a dozen times a day) that my dog is over half a mile away on a highway. The assistance I've received from the manufacturer has not helped resolve the problem. The battery lasts only a day. I had an earlier generation of this product that had a base and it worked pretty well until it no longer held a charge. This one does not accurately track my dog and does not give me accurate updates.
