Feeding Instructions

How much food your dog eats each day is dependent upon size, level of activity, stage of reproduction, and environment. When feeding in measured amounts, feed according to the weight of your dog. Use this table as a general guide to determine how much to feed your dog.

WeightDaily Feeding (Cans)
5 lbs1/3 - 2/3
10 - 20 lbs1 – 1 1/2
30 - 40 lbs2 - 2 1/3
50 - 60 lbs2 3/4 - 3 1/4
70 - 100 lbs3 1/2 - 4 1/2
  • For dogs over 100 lbs add 1/3 can of wet dog food for each additional 10 lbs.

Puppies and pregnant or lactating females may consume two to three times the recommended daily amount. Adjust feeding level to maintain optimum weight and condition. Feed your dog according to the level of activity and individual needs. Cover and refrigerate unused portions. Keep fresh water available at all times.

If feeding with dry food, reduce wet amount by 6-oz for every 1/2 cup of dry food.

Transition Instructions

Slowly transition your pet by choosing one of Whole Earth Farm's recipes and mix it with your current pet food over the course of 5-7 days. Continuously increase the amount of our kibble or canned food while decreasing the amount in your dog’s current diet.

    My dogs favorite

    By on

My pug "Jack" has allergies to chicken and grains and it is hard to find a food that has ingredients that didn't upset his stomach and is tasty. I saw Whole Earth had a salmon and turkey formula and I thought, "lets give it a try". I am so glad I did. Jack loves it. He has no allergic reactions at all now. His eyes are bright and his coat is shiny. The ingredients are natural and healthy for him. It's a great product.

    My dogs love it !

I had been feeding my little babies Blue Buffalo for years, however I started noticing the quality of their food was getting so bad my babies wouldn’t eat for days. Then they would get so hungry they would eat until they got sick. I took them to the vet several times. The veterinarian suggested that I change their food. The Blue Buffalo had tons of wet slimy fat lining the can and the food had a smell that would make you gag. So I started doing research and found Whole Earth, so I figured I would give it a try. Wow what a difference. It has chunks of real meat, vegetables and gravy. My babies love it. They never miss a meal and they are showing signs of life again. Wow what a difference. It has chunks of real meat, vegetables and gravy. My babies love it. They never miss a meal and they are showing signs of life again. The old saying “you are what you eat” holds true to this food. Not to mention Blue was very rude and non caring when I brought this to their attention. They wanted me to prove it was their food that was causing my babies to be sick. That’s like eating at McDonalds and getting sick then trying to prove it was their hamburger that caused it. On the other hand Chewy was extremely compassionate and went above and beyond my expectations. Whole Earth Farms in both my babies and my opinion is the way to go! … more

I have 2 dogs. One will eat anything, but the other is very picky. Not only does he like this, but after reading the label so do I.

    My dogs love it

My dogs love this product. They only get it as a topper to their kibble but they gobble it up and lick their dishes clean. Just wish I could buy about 1/2 as much. 12 cans are going to last me a long time.

    Thick stew

    By on

I put this stew on top of dry & other canned food. Picky Standard Poodle eats it. I like that the stew is thicker than some others I’ve tried that are mostly gravy. This has nice soft solids. Also, my dog loves canned tuna. I don’t want to give this troublesome food regularly. The salmon in this stew is a healthy substitute for canned tuna.

    Whole Earth is the BEST

    By on

We have been feeding Whole Earth now for several years. It is the best! The dogs love it and literally jump for joy at feeding time. We feed both dry and wet (I mix it) to our two dogs Cooper (Boxer) and Zoey (Stag Hound rescue). They are good and healthy and the vet says maybe even a little (5 lbs) too fat!

    My dog Likes this

    By on

So Chewy had run out of my dog's normal Whole Earth canned food. They called and recommended this as a substitute. He likes this but seems to like the salmon stew better without the turkey. This whole line of canned food from Whole Earth Farms is awesome. It is recommended by Dog Food Advisor. It is helping my dog lose the weight he needs due to the higher protein than his old food.

    Not a drop left

    By on

My Newfoundland is particular about his food but ate every bit. He wasn’t eating his dry food and the canned has been like an appetizer as now he is finishing his meal with the can on top of the dry. He is geriatric and this is helping keep his weight up. Moist cubes of food with peas. Even the cat gave up his food to snack on this.

    good GF food

    By on Top 100 Contributor

I have recently started feeding the Whole Earth Farms GF canned food. Made in the USA is a biggie for me to start with, Grain Free is also important, ratings and recalls are also observed when picking a good food for my Girls. Nutritionally balanced. This company passed my tests and the Girls like some of the flavors, mainly the beef so far.
