lLucky approves

I have quite a menagerie of cats majority being abandoned when people have moved. While I don’t have a lot of picky eaters I do have one that makes up for the rest. I have tried just about every grain free canned food on her. She has really taken a liking to this food and I’m so thrilled and thankful to have finally found a wet food she accepts. She is getting up in years and I want her to be content. Thank you Whole Earth Farms and Chewy for supporting my needs for my pets.

Both cats love it
By Shinobi on Jan 7, 2021
I've been trying to find something they liked as much as Max Cat since it was discontinued. We've tried a lot of brands. This is the one. They both eat it up. They prefer chunks over paté, so I try to chop it up for them. Will definitely keep buying this one.

Not suitable for CKD cats
By SissySue on Nov 13, 2020
I started buying this food for my cats a several years ago and they really enjoyed it. I had a diabetic senior guy, and his 2 senior CKD sisters, the carb content and low phosphorous made it a good choice for all of them. A couple years ago it became impossible to find because the company had sold out and the food was on backorder for a long time. When it finally became available again, it was obvious they had changed the formula. My cats didn't like it as well, and the look and smell was different. I continued to buy because I thought it was still a healthy choice and would add it to their mix occasionally. Now I've learned the Phosphorous level has greatly increased making it unsuitable I started buying this food for my cats a several years ago and they really enjoyed it. It's aggravating that these pet food companies are always looking for ways to change the food to make it more profitable for them without any regard for our pets health. … more

Won’t buy again
By Worked on Jan 5, 2021
Tried this one for my cats as I’m trying to eliminate chicken from their diets. Two of my three sniffed and walked away. Won’t be buying again.

This was a miss.

I thought this would be loved as it was Duck, but alas no one will eat it. It is a very dry pate that may have something to do with it they do like to lick their foods. Sigh.

New Formula Has Tripled the Phosphorus!
By BessieB on Oct 30, 2020
I have fed my cats Whole Earth Farm’s Duck Pate for years because of its low phosphorus. I just learned that the company changed the Duck Pate recipe (since April 2019) and the new formula has phosphorus at 1.66% DMB, about triple the amounts of the old recipe. The phosphorus in this food is just too high. My cats have CKD and I will not feed this food to my cats any more. I wish the company would have warned us about tripling the phosphorous since a lot of us bought this food for our CKD cats.

My cats won't eat it
By Baaad on Sep 27, 2020
Both my 10 year-old cats, Matisse and Sabine, refused to eat this. Sabine turned her nose up immediately and walked away. Matisse ate a little but when I tried to give it to him for his second daily feeding, he balked. I even mixed the food in with Friskies and of course he ate around the Whole Earth portion. Giving the food to a shelter. Only used 1 can in the case.

Seems good for adult cat with IBS
By Barbfitz67 on Sep 13, 2020
My 11 year old cat started vomiting and having diarrhea on his regular food. Took him into the vet and blood work came back wonderful. But had an internal infection. Got antibiotics and was better for awhile. Then the symptoms came back. Read up on cat foods and IBS found out he should have a grain free diet! Switched him to WHOLE EARTH DUCK pate. He loves it! ( Very picky eater!) He’s off the prednisone and he is doing much better!

Not a hit, not a miss
By Courtney on Sep 16, 2020
The kits are okay with it straight from the can, but if you have to save any portion of it for the next day they inexplicably hate it. They will eat a portion in their bowl but it takes them awhile to finish it unless it's mixed with their favorite food. They don't outright refuse to eat it, but I probably wouldn't get it again.

Just Ok - Might Not Repurchase.
By Amanda on Aug 10, 2020
My cat enjoys the flavor, and will eat this, but is not as keen on it as some other kinds we've tried. I think it's something to do with the texture. I generally mix pate with more water for her because she doesn't like to drink water on its own and adding water to the pate keeps her hydrated. This pate doesn't mix well though - it breaks into tiny crumbly chunks, rather than mixing smooth like some other brands. Also the can is not full like some other brands of pate I've purchased before, and at least half of the cans in my purchase were heavily dented when they arrived.
