    Good for variety

    By on

Both cats will eat this, although they like the plain beef recipe better. Still, this is good for variety. Nice pate consistency (not too mushy or firm); clean ingredients. I will order again.

    Whole Earth Farms

My cats just love the beef flavor, so when I tried to order last time and it was sold out I thought oh well, they'll probably like the beef and turkey just as well...NOT!! They pick at it because that's what I'm serving them but it is definitely not something I will order again.

    Great cat food!

    By on

My cats love this food and gobble it up when we put it out. We have a cat who is allergic to chicken and it is difficult to find cat food without it (for a reasonable price). This food fits both bills; good price and no chicken!

I'm afraid I'll have to donate this to the shelter. My cat won't eat it.

2 unsatisfied cats & 1 sad owner. Cats don't like this food anymore.

I don't know what's going on with the pet food manufacturer making this cat food, or what is wrong with this food. I've done so much research on so many brands of cat food trying to find a brand that has the best ingredients at affordable price. This brand is not too expensive and the ingredients seem good (though I wish it didn't use some of the ingredients it uses, and it was higher in animal muscle protein, much less in carbohydrates and much higher in fat, as it is way too low in fat). I've purchased this brand before in the duck and the beef & turkey flavor, as well as other flavors, and my cat Minnie used to eat it, though not enthusiastically, she would take some bites and walk away I don't know what's going on with the pet food manufacturer making this cat food, or what is wrong with this food. I've purchased this brand before in the duck and the beef & turkey flavor, as well as other flavors, and my cat Minnie used to eat it, though not enthusiastically, she would take some bites and walk away and eat the rest later, so eventually she would eat all of it and it wouldn't go to waste. I purchased a few cans in different flavors for her to try, and the beef & turkey and the duck flavors in pate were the ones she liked the best, so on November 11 I purchased a case of each, plus a case of the duck & chicken morsels in gravy so I could mix it with the pate which does not have any gravy or broth so it's on the dry side. (I also got a case of the Chicken Soup for the Soul pate cat food, which is also on the dry side). For about a week and a half I've been giving both my cat Minnie and my kitten Leo the food, 2 small meals twice a day, and no matter how hungry they are, they smell it and walk away, and the food stays ignored all day, they refuse to eat it no matter how I give it to them or where. I tried giving it plain as it comes from the can, with just a little water mixed in so it won't be so dry, or also mixing or topping it with a little bit of the morsels and gravy, or mixing half a can of one flavor with 1/4 can of the other, or mixing one flavor with 1/4 can of the Chicken Soup for the Soul (another dry pate cat food that they aren't crazy about), and they don't seem to like it or want it, and won't eat until they are starving after they've gone without eating for most of the day, and still I end up throwing away 1/3 to 1/2 of what I've serve them; and I don't serve them a lot, maybe 2 tablespoons for each cat. I went from giving them 3 meals a day to 2 and sometimes once a day, trying to make them eat the meal I serve them, but they still ignore it for most of the day, and let some go to waste. Minnie has always been picky, but Leo usually eats whatever I give him, and used to have a voracious appetite, eating twice as much as Minnie, but now it's as if he's lost his appetite, though both he and Minnie will eat dry cat food, or want to get some of what I eat, chicken, turkey, salmon or tuna from my meals if I offer some to them. But I try not to give them any dry food or treat if they don't eat some of their meal first. While staying at a friend's apartment for several weeks they ate the food his cat eats, the Merrick grain free cat food, the rabbit and beef pate, but ate more of the limited ingredient duck pate; and they always ate their meals, 3 times a day then. The Merrick grain free cat food has very similar consistency and ingredients to the Whole Earth Farms grain free cat food, but it has pea protein and some of the flavors contain carrageenan (which causes inflammation in the body). and it's about $8 more a case, so that made me choose the Whole Earth Farms brand, but now I wish I hadn't since my cats don't seem to like it and don't want to eat it. Maybe it's the lack of smell? I wish I knew why they don't like it. Now I'm stuck with 4 cases of cat food they don't like and don't want to eat, which is a big waste of money and a big financial burden for me since I'm unemployed due to my health, and pretty much broke. I had to spend some time saving and wait until I had enough money to buy these cases of cat food, and it will take a long time for me to be able to save enough money to be able to buy more cat food again. :-( Next time I'll buy the Merrick brand. … more

    Big hit with the cats

    By on Top 100 Contributor

My female cat is primarily can fed while my boy is mostly raw fed but he does get one canned meal a day. Both of them enjoy this flavor and I enjoy how relatively inexpensive this brand is for the quality that you get. My only issue is I wish it was less carb-y but feeding this in rotation with other brands that are less carb-heavy helps me get over that! Very good food for the price, I would absolutely recommend it.

    Makes all my kitties happy

    By on

I have 7 cats. Yes 7. One 14 yr old maine coon who is my heart and soul, four 11 mo old kittens who my husband and I rescued, and two outdoor semi-ferals who are the moms of the kittens. All my cats love this flavor of Whole Earth Farms. It has a nice moisture content, doesn't stink like a lot of other wet canned foods (smells like the potted chicken in a can you buy for sandwiches), and it has good nutrition.

    Food is too dry

    By on Top 500 Contributor

My cats loved this food at first but then subsequent orders of this food were very dry. Odd. I feed canned food to rescues that need it due to health issues. Having a food that is easy for them to eat is necessary. Having a dry, hard canned food does nothing to help encourage them to eat. I have added water and they still dislike it. :-( Apparently more than moisture content has changed.

    Formula seems to have changed

    By on

I’ve been ordering this for months, and, like others, found it dry. This last order, though much moister, apparently tastes bad. My cats suddenly won’t eat it.
