My 2 bengals love these! I add them to their dry food and they eat them right up. They are a bit crumbly but great for the price.

in fairness i do have finicky cats, but they typically inhale any brand/flavor of freeze dried food. this was not a winner.

Our cat will eat these but is not overly enthused. We won't repurchase since she is picky and a little overweight!

  • Mixed feelings---2 cats hate it but it's nice to have a bone-free freeze-dried option

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I feed my 2 teenage kittens primarily freeze-dried raw and home-cooked (with added nutrient supplement), but am running into issues with constipation, which I suspect is at least partly due to the ground bone in the freeze-dried raw. (my kittens also had major constipation issues with ground eggshell [calcium source] in a nutrient supplement premix for home-cooked food---currently trying one with calcium lactate instead) So I was thrilled to see a freeze-dried raw product that did NOT have ground bone....however, the kittens totally refuse to eat it, even after many attempts at offering it to them over the course of 2 months. On the plus side, this is a freeze-dried raw food that is less I feed my 2 teenage kittens primarily freeze-dried raw and home-cooked (with added nutrient supplement), but am running into issues with constipation, which I suspect is at least partly due to the ground bone in the freeze-dried raw. On the plus side, this is a freeze-dried raw food that is less pricey than some other brands, and the absence of ground bone is also a big plus----for those of us who have cats who don't tolerate ground bone well, it's nice to have options; I just wish there were more of them! On the negative side, 2 cats really disliked it, to the point of refusing it when I knew they were very hungry (first thing in the morning). I'm also not keen on the fact that sweet potato and peas are ingredients #2 and #4; that's a lot of carbohydrate, and I'm sure the peas are being used to elevate the protein content instead of using more actual animal protein (to be fair, they do contribute fiber as well). Yet the product is branded as "Duck Recipe" when duck is ingredient #5!!! It could just as easily (and more accurately) be called "Sweet potato recipe" or "Pea recipe"! But overall, I'm happy that there is one more bone-free freeze-dried raw alternative on the market....I've also tried the excellent ZiwiPeak bone-free air-dried formula, but my fussy cats also are not keen on that flavor profile :( I hope other vendors follow suit and provide more bone-free options for those cats that can't tolerate daily doses of ground bone. It's worth a try; maybe your cats will like it, unlike mine! … more

My finicky cat loves this stuff. I mix it with her dry food and she gobbles it up.

  • Nice Cooked Freeze-Dried

    By on

All 3 of my cats like this food. I do hydrate it, but can give it broken up as a treat. This is a lightly cooked food, not raw, so the texture of the dry pieces is softer and more fragile than freeze-dried raw. I gave up on all the raw freeze-dried with all the large amount of ground bone that I don't think is healthy or safe for cats to ingest. Sometimes arrives "powdered" in the shipping process. It seems a bit expensive but I will continue buying.

  • Great new food for my finicky cat

    By on

I rotate a few freeze dried foods and always excited to try something new. I like the ingredients a lot and my cat loved it which was great because he is usually picky with new foods. I like that you can see the ingredients in the food. It definitely has that real food feel to it.

  • Helped my cat with his digestive problems

    By on

Not only does my cat love the food, but I bought it because it has pumpkin and yogurt hoping the probiotics would help my cat's sensitive stomach which so far it seems to be doing. Thanks for a great product!

  • Okay dry, but not rehydrated

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My cats will nibble at it dry, but won't even sniff it if/when rehydrated. And they love duck! Too bad this one isn't a win for them.
