  • Pug with allergies

    By on

I have 2 Pugs. One has bad allergies. We were using a prescription hypoallergenic food for several years, then the price skyrocketed. We decided it was time to switch. I found Wild Calling at a chain pet store, but it wasn’t always in stock. I found it here at Chewy and I’ve never had an issue. They’ve been on it for about a year now and I working out very well.

  • My Fussy Princess Loves This Food

My senior dog has turned her nose up at more dog-food brands than I can even name; however, she never left a morsel in her dish of the Kangaroo Wild Calling.

  • Great Food

    By on

Finally found a dog food that helps my lab with her scratching. Even pigment in her skin is getting back to pink ( turn blackish) Only on first bag and she is scratching a lot less.

  • Response to..Dogs won't eat

    By on

I also have a dog with severe food allergies, thankfully he can eat turkey, haven't tried this dry food but do use the canned recently. Try Canine Caviar grain free line, great food!!! unfortunately they only have 3 protein sources for rotation and it's expensive, of course, but has worked GREAT for my pup!!! I have always used Canine Caviar for allergies. I will give this food a try though with my other pup and see how it goes. Good luck!

  • Way too expensive

    By on

I just ordered this because Chewy isnn't carrying California Natural Kangaroo and Lentils. My dog is eating it but he will eat anything. It's too expensive for 20lbs. I'm going to have to find this locally. I have already found it and the store has agreed to order it form me. Sorry, I'm sure it is quality stuff, but the price is just too high.

  • My dogs won't eat

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

Bought this food for a dog with severe allergies. None of my dogs including the rescues would eat this food. I did not realize that it has Turkey fat in the ingredient list , which would have been a no no for her anyway. Would love to see an actual dog food that is not prescribed by a vet for dogs with allergies .

  • Best we've tried

    By on

We've tried many brands for our extremely finicky Saluki/Lab mix who also has food allergies and intolerances. Wild Calling Xotic Essentials and Western Plains Stampede have been the best so far. He has no digestive issues on them and likes most flavors well enough. We love the fact that you can rotate flavors without digestive upset. My dog is not allergic to turkey, so I don't have any problem with the turkey fat. Wouldn't mind if the kibble was a bit smaller, but I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Dogs love it

    By on Top 100 Contributor

I've been feeding the Kangaroo to my Rotti Mix and to the tiny poodle. Both love it. They probably would love it more if I wouldn't mix it with their other food but gosh, it's a little pricey and I didn't want to spend 72 dollars and nobody eats it so I only tried the small bag for right now. My old Rotti usually gets bad gas when he eats something different, not with this food. No stomach issues. The kibble is medium size, it is almost a little big for the 5 lb poodle but he crunches it away, just takes him a little longer.
