It’s was exciting to see the family history!!!!
By Weight on Aug 20, 2021
I got Rome knowing his mom was a papered purebred American Staffordshire Terrier but his dad was from the shelter and said to be Am Staff mix. (That story was a little foggy because shelter dogs are typically fixed.) The only disappointment was the breed group is vague and I was told other DNA tests show American Pittbull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier as being two different breeds on DNA. On this test it only shows American Staffordshire Terrier. I wasn't expecting my dog to be a purebred so there was no disappointment to get the results. It was so fun to know his breed because he has the personality of a docile Bulldog but looks like an Am Staff except his head is much bigger I got Rome knowing his mom was a papered purebred American Staffordshire Terrier but his dad was from the shelter and said to be Am Staff mix. I would still recommend this and don’t get disappointed when your dog it not what you want them to be just love them for who they are:) … more

My dog is clearly a pit bull and they said she was a German Shepard and some small dog. Not impressed

Breeders Lie
By Addie on Mar 8, 2021
What is so disappointing are breeders stating that the puppy is Labrador Retriever pure bred. They promise to send AKA papers to show the breed, but you wait and never arrives. Wisdom allowed us to identify she is 75% Labrador and the remainder Golden Retriever. Both with a great history of longevity and health. Both easy to train, a both very smart. That she does display.

Happy with my purchase
By Rebecca on Feb 12, 2021
The swab kit was surprisingly easy to collect a sample. While he can be a little hard to sit still, our puppy liked the bristles up against his check. Shipping to the lab comes with your kit and it got there quick. The only drawback is the wait of 2-3 weeks for results after the labs receives your sample, but we patiently waited. The best part is the detailed report as the results! It was awesome and enlightening to learn about our rescue pup. I enjoyed seeing the family tree broken down as to what his potential ancestors were. This was fascinating and I highly recommend!

Seems accurate
By forgetful on Jan 30, 2021
They should probably get 5 stars, but I deducted one for skeptics like me. I was truly unsure if the results I got would be accurate or they do things like check dog registration records against your name. They didn't ask for a lot of info, but they did ask the dog's age despite breed not changing with age. So, imo, they should remove all erroneous questions to increase confidence. Other than that though, the process was simple. They provide a self-addressed, self-sealing box to return the samples. And they emailed me an update when the swabs were received which means you don't spend weeks wondering. A few weeks later, poof, the results were in. As for the results, I can't say for sure, but they are at least partially accurate. My girl is clearly part great dane, but she's also got something else I couldn't say for sure. My guess was pittie or boxer (or maybe both with who knows. The only certain part was great dane.) She reminded me a lot of my old pittie mix both visually & this intensity level she has sometimes, but *shrug* They said she's half dane & half staffie and thus her parents were both purebreds. Looking at her, there's little doubt one parent was a pure dane so I'm inclined to believe it. … more

Half a DNA
By Jade on Feb 10, 2021
I feel like my dogs DNA was incomplete. We only received half of her DNA the other half was a group of dogs it might be. I feel that I did not pay for just half of the results, I paid for total DNA! When we purchased her we were told she was miniature poodle but I could tell there was more to her story so I paid for her DNA and received half of it. Honestly I would not have gone with this company had I known they only did half the job.

Sonic says Whut?
By SonicsMom on Feb 20, 2021
I recently adopted a dog from the shelter. He is clearly some sort of Doxie mix. The shelter said Dachshund/Chi but I don't really see much Chihuahua in him so I bought this test. Honestly, I picked this one because it was the cheapest and I had really low expectations. I just thought it would be fun to argue with my friends over the results. We all guessed beforehand and our guesses included 7 different breeds, all reasonable guesses. Today I got my results and ..... drum roll ... Sonic is 37.5% "Who Knows". That's right. They couldn't identity almost 40% of his breeds. They call it "Breed group(s)" but it's basically "we don't know" since the majority of his DNA is supposedly from I recently adopted a dog from the shelter. He is clearly some sort of Doxie mix. This is more than half the breeds they test against, by the way. If you can't tell what breeds a dog is better than that, you have no business selling DNA kits IMO. I'm kind of sorry I didn't buy the Embark brand since, even if it wasn't more accurate, they will tell you about possible relatives and that would be fun. This was not fun. … more

Reliable service.
By Coffeecat on Mar 6, 2021
My daughter used this for her 2 rescue dogs, as did my son, and both of them recommended it. I adopted a rescue dog and am excited to see the results. Wisdom Panel is good about letting you know how the testing progresses, and when to expect your results. Very pleased so far.

Worth it!!!
By HappyPups on Feb 22, 2021
We decided to get this DNA test for our rescue pup because we knew he was a lab mix, we just didn't know what he was mixed with. We were told possibly beagle or maybe boxer. As it turns out, he has neither of those! He is mostly lab, with American Staffordshire Terrier and American Bulldog.
