Mix increasing amounds of Wishbone's Pasture with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7 day period. When supplementing with canned food, decrease the amount of dry food to avoid overfeeding.
Had to give bag of dry cat food to animal shelter. Had to buy a different brand of dry chicken based cat food that my cat would eat. Apparently my cat didn’t like lamb.
My three cats loved this food from the moment I opened the bag. In addition to regular feeding, they take this food as a treat as well. One of my cats groomed to the point of not having hair from her waist down. By switching to this food, her hair is growing back nicely, she is not grooming 24 hours a day, and all 3 tummies are happy. I hope Chewy continues to carry this brand.
Our cat has eaten many "top notch" foods, but unfortunately, WishBone needs to stay in business AND keep the "Pasture" flavor cat food well-stocked, because Dechen refuses to eat any other kibble! It definitely keeps him healthy and happy!
My cats decided they were tired of eating beef flavored food. But I really have to avoid foods with chicken as the main ingredient. So that limits me to Fish (cats who cuddle with fish breath >.>) or lamb. And lamb tends to be expensive. But this food solves my problems and my kids love it. I have entered it into the rotation along with their beef formula. They like the alternation and I have no stool issues with them doing it like that.
It stinks imo, but my girls dont mind it a bit. I also added a wetfood w/lamb and fish oil. One cat with allergies and this diet change has reduced the sneezing and hacking considerably! The dander and shedding is starting to improve also, thank goodness!
I really like the company especially because they source from ethically and humanely raised animals. However, after eating this for two months--along with their wet food--two of my cats developed urinary problems requiring antibiotics. My cats are 2 and 5 and never had any problems prior to eating Wishbone. (My other cat didn't develop any issues because she doesn't eat kibble.) I immediately switched to Wysong Uretic and Wysong grain and starch free and have had no recurrent problems. I don't like my cats eating dry food, but it is a necessary evil at times. I ran out of the Wysong and fed the Wishbone until I got the new order and within days, my one cat again had problems. I immediately threw the rest out.
Switching proteins. I am transitioning my cats to this food from a lamb based food. They both seem very excited. One of them actually purrs when I’m adding this brand to her soon-to-be old brand.
In the quest to find a cat food my cats like, I bought 4 different brands of grain-free dry food. Of the 4, this was the least favorite. The kibble is really tiny, about 1/8", which I don't really like because I want them to actually chew their food, not swallow it whole, to help keep their teeth clean. (The picture on the website was not what it looked like - it was a lot darker.) The guaranteed analysis was also not as complete as competitive brands. However, with what is listed, I can say my cats prefer a food with a higher protein content than the 32% this one has - they go for 40% or higher. I am still giving this 3 stars because I would put this in my cats food rotation if they liked it - the ingredients do seem to be a decent quality.
A favorite for Calvin and approved by this pet parent.
None of five cats like it.maybe good product.but not for mine
