    Less dust, healthy option

By CatWhisperer on Feb 11, 2020

I like the less dust vs. the clay liter. I like that it's a healthy choice for my cats HOWEVER; only my kitten will use it the others wont go in unless I mix with another litter. The natural odor is too strong for them. Cats can smell much better than we can. Trying more unscented clay and see if i can I like the less dust vs. the clay liter. Very dusty but...better for the environment?

By Beck on Jan 1, 2020

I liked the idea of getting away from clay litter, and was looking for something with less dust than the tidy cat/fresh step I was used to buying. This litter was very dusty imo. Tracking wise was middle of the road. I didn’t love the scent of the litter but I wouldn’t consider it a bad smell or anything I liked the idea of getting away from clay litter, and was looking for something with less dust than the tidy cat/fresh step I was used to buying. This litter was very dusty imo. Tracking wise was middle of the road. I didn’t love the scent of the litter but I wouldn’t consider it a bad smell or anything. The urine clumps also didn’t really dry as well as I was used to, so they broke apart a bit when scooping but not that bad. I don’t really know how to describe, but if u scoop the used litter into a sealed/covered bin, there will be wet condensation(?) built up inside. I use an empty tidy cat pail to scoop the used litter into, then dump that in the trash weekly. When using this litter, if I kept the lid closed it was like a terrarium in there the next day. Damp... So I had to keep the lid open 1/2” for things to stay dry, but then the smell permeated the room a bit. Not ideal. Overall, it was an ok litter. I didn’t love it bc of the dust & the condensation in the soiled litter bin, but it’s a better option environmentally than clay. If my housemate hadn’t been b##ching about the dust & smell (from the soiled litter bit) - the box is in his office - I’d have probably given 1 more bag a shot. … more
