Smells but works
The litter itself has an odor that I'm not fond of nor does it do much to cover the odor after use. It takes awhile for most of the odor to go away. BUT the tracking is very much less than previous litter I've used. Definitely have to vacuum less. And the clumping is pretty fantastic. I usually avoid clumping litters because they get mushy or fall apart easy but the clumping is pretty secure and only breaks when in very large clumps (my cats love to pee in one specific part of the litterbox so it can be a lot to scoop up.) While the odors can be annoying, I don't regret trying this litter because of how easy it is to clean and how long it lasts before needing replacing. I suggest including baking soda in litter to better help battle the odor.
Not worth additional price, IMO
I didn't find this litter to be appreciably lower in dust than the original product. The grains are larger, but the dust issue remains about the same. I do notice that the larger grains do not clump as well, are more difficult to sift, and the cats don't seem to like the feel on their paws. Also, I cannot figure out why it's priced higher than the regular formula. It's just a coarser grind, no other difference, so why is it more costly? I won't bother with this item again, but will continue to use the original, which works fine, although it *would* be nice if they could figure out how to lower the dust... I just don't think this is worth the price increase when it's basically not as effective as a litter.
No real improvement...
I have been a World's Best user for years. I'm at a loss to understand why they need to come out with a "Low tracking and Dust Control" formula if they are claiming all their formulas are 99.9% dust free. Wouldn't this new, improved version then be 100% dust free? HA! There is some dust improvement initially but the larger size granules that make up this new version quickly break down into fine dust which does track....I have the dark floors to prove it. The larger granules are difficult to sift through conventional litter scoops so more usable litter got wasted. I get 4 box changes out of the original formula....2.5 changes out of the " improved" version. (15lb. Bag) For me....this new formula is a waste of money. I won't be purchasing it again.
Half and half
I recently tried this one due to positive reviews and the fact that the old litter I was using is incredibly dusty. I'll give pros and cons on this. Pros: Doesn't stick at all to their long hair on their backside (hard to find a litter that doesn't, so that's good). Tracks but not a lot. I have to sweep first thing in the morning due to big pieces outside of the tray but nothing I don't already do with others, I can live with it. Definitely not dusty which is great. Lightweight so not hard to pick up and pour into the tray. Also, doesn't stick to the bottom of the tray like others which is so much easier to scoop. Now the cons: No odor control for poop. I don't seem to smell their pee much or at all but my house in the morning smells like poop horribly. Clumping is easier if you let it sit for awhile, doesn't always work though. My cats just don't like the consistency and I have had to mix this with their old litter. I really hope to convert them fully as this one has no dust and it's healthier. So we'll see as time goes on and they get more used to it. Overall I like it and I hope my cats get used to it.
Orange (bag) is the new best!
This is my new go to litter in the World’s Best cat litter family. Larger pieces, less tracking and low odor and dust for real! I have previously used the red and green bags, with the green being my preference before the orange bag came out. I have a white pawed kitty and so far his paws have stayed white. I’m not sure what the previous reviewer meant by turning their kitty’s paws pink, but I have been using this for a couple months and paws are still glistening white!
good on dust bad on clumping
Pros first: lightweight, super low dust, and controls odors well. Now the cons. Poor clumping so that pieces break off and remain in the box. The one cat who will use this litter pees a lot so there are large clumps. Even with a good layer of their previous litter on the top, 2 of my 3 cats won't go near the box with this stuff. For that reason, I would not repurchase or recommend. But if your cat likes this type of litter and has a small bladder it might work for you.
Becomes dusty eventually
Here's the thing: this is just bigger pieces of litter. Initially, it is pretty good at tracking less, but eventually, it breaks down into a fine dust (maybe even finer than the original,) and the kitties are back to tracking all around the house again. Plus it seems a lot stinkier and heavier than the original. It was worth a shot, but I wouldn't recommend it.
DO NOT USE WITH LITTER ROBOT
wow... this litter is probably great for regular scooping but went through 2 bags in like 2 weeks with the litter robot, pebbles are too big so it wastes alot when it cycles and clumps all at the bottom and sticks which makes it not work as intended. Now my litter robot has issues. again DONT USE IT WITH LITTER ROBOT
the best world’s best
I have used World’s Best litter for many years now and have always appreciated it for the ability to flush it and that it’s natural for my cats. I wanted to try this because of the no-tracking feature and it did not disappoint. It is still flushable, doesn’t track, and clumps beautifully. My cats have smelly poops that can ruin the whole box of litter if left for any length of time but this isn’t a problem with this litter. I mean we clean the poop as soon as possible but if we are gone or something and can’t get to it right away, this litter does a great job. I can’t say enough. The only thing I will say that is slightly negative is that the kernels are bigger so the litter seems to deplete faster.
Just what we needed
We live in tight quarters (RV) and found that the regular version of WBCL resulted in dust and tracked litter, so gave this a try as soon as we saw it. The larger sized pellets don’t seem to get caught in our cat’s paws as much, resulting in less tracking (so far). It also seems to absorb moisture better, creating a tight ‘piddle puddle’ that’s easier to scoop, though I do feel like we’re going through litter more quickly as a result. We haven’t been using it long enough to determine whether there will be less dust.
