When my cats were kittens, the shelter I adopted them from gave me a Yeowww catnip cigar for them to play with...it lasted for a long time. I ordered the fish and the banana (because I've learned my cats can't share anything...) and they were both a huge hit. I've never seen my cats play so much with a toy before. However...after about a hour of playing, both the fish and banana started to come apart...which is kind of weird since the cigar lasted for over a year. So these have become a 'special occasion' toys where I'll have to watch them while playing so they don't destroy the entire thing and accidentally eat something they aren't supposed too.
RIP little banana
on Oct 20, 2020
My cat went nuts for this banana immediately. Had I reviewed it right away, I honestly would have given it a 5 star. However, within 5 hours he had entirely destroyed it. There is catnip everywhere and my cat is going to be tripping for days.
If your cat is a little more mild mannered and doesn't have the razor sharp teeth and claws that my little monster has, it could still work for you. But unfortunately not buying again for my boy
Our cat is obsessed
on Oct 10, 2020
Since we got our Petey in May he hasn’t shown a ton of interest in catnip. We’ve gotten it in a couple forms and he liked it, but didn’t seem to be very affected or super into it. That was till we got this toy.
When we opened the box of cat and dog toys we recently ordered he immediately perked up. He jumped up on the counter and stared sniffing through the toys till he found this one. He’s completely obsessed with his “naner.” He loves to cuddle with it, play with it, and naw on it. We love to see him so happy!

My cats LOVE this. i can't believe how much time they spend playing with it.. and how many of the cats (i have 9) want to play with it.. they are constantly stealing it from one another. My princess trots around the house carrying it in her mouth. Even the grumpy old men who rarely notice anything, let alone deign to PLAY with something, keep trying to sneak it away from the others.
Sturdy for hard play
on Oct 16, 2020
The best part about this toy is how sturdy it is constructed. The material is heavy duty for hard play. My kitty loves this toy when she enters her nighty nocturnal psychosis. She grabs it between her front paws, flops onto her side, bites it like a vampire, and proceeds to thump it “to death” with her back feet. It is an absolute joy to watch!
Kitty’s favorite toy

What can I say about the catnip banana. My cat absolutely adores this toy. I purchase a new one every few months for her. She loves to knock it around and then sits and licks it for quite some time. I have even found her curled up with it during her nap. Please keep making these. They really are the best.
Maybe not for blind cats
on Sep 26, 2020
I have two 1yo cats with no eyes. They almost instantly got overstimulated by this banana and acted like they were on bath salts -- two of the sweetest cats I've ever met turned into ferocious little monsters. Maybe it's because their other senses are heightened due to the blindness, I'm not sure. But the banana had to go in the trash after 15 minutes so that they wouldn't hurt each other fighting over it.
I haven’t ordered this yet but.......

I logged on to check The reviews for this for my cat. The first review I saw was from the person who had a blind cat. My cat is blind also. So I’m going to order it give it to her for Christmas. I will edit my review once I receive this and see how she likes it.
Suggestions to Yeowww

1. Have you thought of making Banana skin in a heavy canvas? Although cats could still bite through it, it would not tear. (I've made outside patio curtains out of this; cats got big scraps.)
2. Maybe machine stitching would be better than hand sewing.
N. How about a zippered slip cover?!! Out of canvas, of course.

Geez! My 3 girls wouldn't even let me unpack the dang box! I was trying to get the two 25lb kitty litter boxes out 1st, but they dove right in fighting to get in the corner where the bananas were! OMG! I grabbed the bananas & threw them in 3 different directions, watched them go completely nuts, then broke out the treats so they would take a break! Kinda reminded me of the 60s!!! :)
