No Dust and hardly ever any tracking.
I’m sick of all the dust from so many types of clumping cat litter and had to give this a try. It took awhile for the cats to get used to the smell and feel of this litter, but they’ve gotten used to it now. I love the fact that it is much less dusty and tracking is, minimal. Cleaning the boxes is more of a chore, but I can tolerate that if I don’t have to find dust everywhere. It’s absorbent, but there isn’t any clumping and they don’t cover their poops. I clean the boxes several times a day and change the litter out completely in about 4 or 5 days for the 3 cats. The problem now is that this litter is being discontinued by Purina, so I’ll be trying to find a similar product at a reasonable price.
It is NOT a clumping litter
For those who say it is horrible because you can't scoop it, it isn't a clumping litter. I put half the litter in and just dump the whole thing out every morning. Very easy, and when you do it that way that very large bag lasts a long time. I have three cats. It was never meant for scooping so I don't know why everyone in the 1 star is complaining so much, you aren't using it as intended. Anyway, no smell control, but cleaning it often it isn't too bad. Pee absorbs and expands the compressed newspaper and the poo is easy to see. Just dump it everyday and then move on with your life. It isn't rocket science guys.
Best litter ever
I will never go back to heavy, dusty, and smelly clay litter. I’ve tried all kinds of litter the past few years. For some reason I was resistant to this one at first because I had such bad experiences with other natural litter. This is the lowest tracking litter I’ve used. It doesn’t get smelly. It’s extremely easy to scoop unlike the clay litter which would get stuck to the front edge of the litter box where my cat likes to pee. I scoop daily with no dust flying around my house. This is healthier for everyone and simply better in every way.
Doesn't track all of the house!
The pelleted litter is great because it doesn't track all over the house and furniture like other litters. Not great on smell reduction, so I use NonScents zeolite powder to keep the smell down, which is safe for cats. I love that it is recyclable and compostable. We scoop boxes (aka Repeal and Replace) 2x/ week and do a full dump and change (aka Regime Change) once a week. This is the only litter trouble cat will use now. There will be heck to pay if it is discontinued.
Yesterdays News Didn't Win a Pulitzer
Maybe I didn't understand how the litter works, but I was not impressed. Neither was Twist my cat, as he howled several times a day when he went to use his litter box. Went through 2 bags faster than any other litter I have used for Twist. Again I guess I should have read the directions??? It must have be more detailed than open bag, pour, scoop. Regardless, my kitty vocalized his displeasure. So it's a NO!
Waste of litter
Pellets are so large you can not scoop the poop with out also scooping out the pellets. So its only good one day. After that most of it gets tossed out as pellets too large to fall through the scooper.
The only litter I use for rabbits!
I've been using this for my house rabbit's litterbox for 12 years now and I tell everyone they need to use it. Every day I add another layer of pellets on top of their droppings and will go up to a week before emptying the litter box and there is NO SMELL. This litter has dispelled all of my guests beliefs that house rabbits stink. The litter is also the perfect size to shake through a traditional cat scoop and leave the droppings in the scoop so you can fertilize your plants without the paper pellets. It's also biodegradable, so the whole litterbox goes into the compost for our vegetable garden. And to the people who have asked me if rabbits try to eat it because it looks like food the answer is no, because it doesn't taste like food.
Best Litter Ever!
Changing to this litter was one of the best things I’ve ever done in my household! My cat easily transitioned after a few weeks of mixing into old litter. Finally…. No more dust. I clean the poop after he goes right away. The pee turns the litter to fine grain sand and it has absolutely no smell at all. I change the litter and fully clean the box once a week. If you are unsure about changing, don’t wait. Do it now. I couldn’t be more thrilled!
Still trying it out
So far, the kitten is ok with it. I got it because I remember 30+ years ago my vet said to use paper strips in the litter box for a week after spay surgery. Surgery next week, so we’re mixing with other litter until full paper pellets next week. Not noticing much dust or smell. Will know better when using 100% paper pellets. Pellets are much larger than clay litter, so not as easy to shake through litter scoop, and pellets are heavier than clay litter.
It does it’s job at litter
This product is just what I need for my rats, whenever the litter has pee on it it puffs up so you can easily tell which ones are the soiled ones and which ones aren’t. One thing I don’t like though is how whenever it dries it does tend to break down into crumbs almost. I’m not too sure about the Oder control yet though because I just got this litter two days ago. I was also surprised to see how small the bag was but that’s my fault. So far it’s doing it’s job though.
