Litter FeatureScented, Odor Control, Non-Clumping, Dust Free, Low Tracking
- Use a moisture-proof litter box. There should be enough room for your cat to comfortably turn around in.
- Fill the litter box to a depth of 2 to 3 inches, with plenty of pellets for pawing and covering. Remember that Yesterday's News paper cat litter is different than clay cat litter. Having the litter too deep will make it more difficult to find and remove the soiled litter.
- Liquid waste is absorbed from the bottom of the pan. It takes a few minutes for all the liquid to absorb.
- Remove the soiled pellets when they have absorbed the liquid and have fully expanded in size.
- Scoop solid waste from the top of the litter box daily.
- Replace the litter weekly.
Additional Instructions
- Only dispose of used cat litter in trash. Do not flush, bury or dispose of it outdoors, in gutters or storm drains to avoid environmental contamination.
- Not for internal use. Not meant for use as compost or as a traction aid.
- Store in a cool, dry place. Product filled by weight; some settling may occur.
Some cats switch from one litter type to another easily. Others require a transition. When possible, give your cat the opportunity adjust to Yesterday's News® prior to surgery.

Perfect for Training Young Kittens!
By Chelsea on Jan 10, 2021
I have five 4-week-old kittens that I initially tried to train with non-clumping clay litter. This was a disaster because the kittens were only interested in trying to eat the clay, so I was too nervous to leave it down for them unsupervised. I switched to these paper pellets and the kittens took to them immediately and have been using their litter box perfectly ever since. The pellets are too big and awkward for them to eat, and I really don’t notice any odor like I do with clay litter. Might consider switching mama cat too!

Confusing for cats
By CBee on Jan 11, 2021
I’ve been trying to find a dust free litter to eliminate tracking throughout my house but ultimately this one did not work. The color is brown so the cats ended up confused and thinking the litter box was full of feces when the litter was fresh. They ended up peeing in places other than the litter box. This litter is good in theory but not so much in execution.

Yesterdays News

Kitty will use her box but I don't think she cares much for this litter. However it doesn't scatter like the finer stuff which I like. Since she is having surgery on her foot, I'm looking for a soft litter. It doesn't have any odor control, so you need to use an air freshener and keep it scooped up a few times every day.

Good For After Surgery
By AnnmarieAnderson on Jan 4, 2021
I used this litter on the recommendation of my vet. It’s perfect for after surgery. It’s dust free and that’s important for surgical wounds. Would I use this litter everyday? Nope. It’s gross.

Kitten approved
By BeckyFL on Nov 6, 2020
Our kitten needed this after surgery and I was so happy that she took to it immediately with no problems at all making the transition. We did add some of this to her regular litter for a couple of days prior to surgery to help the process along. We got the large bag so that we could just replace with fresh more often than usual and it worked out perfectly.

Helps with asthma
By Fish on Oct 1, 2020
My cat has not had an asthma attack since switching to this litter five months ago. Our vet is aware of this lifelong issue. He recommended a low-dust litter, but did not find the asthma severe enough to warrant medical intervention. For years we used a low dust clumping litter. When I bought yesterday news, somewhat by accident, I happily noticed an immediate end to jabulani’s daily asthma attacks. The only reason I don’t give five stars is because this is not a clumping litter; you cannot scoop it. Paper litter
By litter on Oct 29, 2020
I actually really like this litter. Its softer on my cats feet, they don't spread it around like glitter, has a clean smell, I dont smell any oder after the cats use it, not overly expensive, and my cats switched to it with no issues. I dont like how when they pee it all goes to the bottom and the litter is like a crumb and hard to scoop.

Cat with breathing issues and HUGE paws!
By Kathy on Sep 15, 2020
My honest review about Yesterdays News. I have a love/hate relationship with this litter. I inherited a male adult cat who throws/plays with his litter and has huge paws that track clumping litter everywhere with dusty paw prints in the house. Any other litter that I tried and I tried all of them do not work for this cat. Pros: -smells nice, the Fresh scent is very light -Very few pellets leave the litter box. If they do its easy cleanup. -Great for a cat who has allergies/asthma. My cat stopped having breathing issues when I started using this litter. cons: -very difficult to sift for urine and not scoop up unsoiled pellets. I go through the bag very quickly because of wasted My honest review about Yesterdays News. I have a love/hate relationship with this litter.
