Litter FeatureUnscented, Non-Clumping, Odor Control, Dust Free, Low Tracking
- Use a moisture-proof litter box. There should be enough room for your cat to comfortably turn around in.
- Fill the litter box to a depth of 2 to 3 inches, with plenty of pellets for pawing and covering. Remember that Yesterday's News paper cat litter is different than clay cat litter. Having the litter too deep will make it more difficult to find and remove the soiled litter.
- Liquid waste is absorbed from the bottom of the pan. It takes a few minutes for all the liquid to absorb.
- Remove the soiled pellets when they have absorbed the liquid and have fully expanded in size.
- Scoop solid waste from the top of the litter box daily.
- Replace the litter weekly.
Additional Instructions
- Only dispose of used cat litter in trash. Do not flush, bury or dispose of it outdoors, in gutters or storm drains to avoid environmental contamination.
- Not for internal use. Not meant for use as compost or as a traction aid.
- Store in a cool, dry place. Product filled by weight; some settling may occur.

Great for after surgery
By DeDu on Jan 18, 2021
My cat hopped right in after her surgery (normally uses Dr Elseys clay litter). Its not for me as far as everyday use BUT it worked great temporarily until her incision closed up so no clay dust will get in there. I agree with other reviewers that you cant clean the box like you would scoop clay bcuz the pellets just randomly absorb the urine. It requires a full dump or starts to smell. But I would for sure recommend for surgery recovery or if you dont mind dumping box often.

Yesterday's News -- Was not a good choice for our cat
By Treece on Jan 26, 2021
We bought a bag of this for a new youth cat for use after surgery. She would not go in the box at all. Would look in the box, smell it and turn away. We finally had to put her box out with her usual litter in order to get her to go after not going all day.

Best For My Kitty's Paws
By Anna on Jan 18, 2021
My cat can't do regular clumping clay litter, he gets nasty chunks stuff in between his oddly shaped paws and doesn't clean them out well enough. So to avoid that we use this litter and its definitely the least amount of tracking I've had in terms of litter.

Depends on fuzzy
By egg2k on Dec 18, 2020
It depends on your cat. If they like to play with stuff, you'll potentially have it all over your home. As far as people complaining about order control. I honestly get to stuff soon and prefer to smell it. That's how I know if they dropped a floater, and I don't want that sitting there too long. Nice to know some of you do. I'll remember that when reviewing roommate applications.

Best litter ever !!
By Puddy on Dec 30, 2020
I believe my use of Yesterday's News paper litter for many, many years is one of the main reasons why my precious 22 year old cat has never had a UTI, and is very healthy. It is so easy to use, and is made from recycled paper. I highly recommend use of paper pellets litter for all kittens and puppies.

Best rabbit litter
By Abbi on Jan 3, 2021
I have used yesterday's news as rabbit litter for years now and I'm never disappointed in the quality. I don't know that this "softer texture" makes a difference but it's not worse than the original product. No complaints!

Perfect for a slightly dumb kitten
By BeachBummer on Oct 17, 2020
So we just added a new kitten to our household, and while he had no problem finding the box, he wanted to voraciously eat the fine clumping litter we normally use with our adult cat (which is strange because he wants nothing to do with kibbled food yet, but I digress). Since this litter is non-clumping and is made of larger chunks of pelleted paper, I figured it might be less tactically confusing...he indeed chose to pee in it rather than sample it, so this solved what was an unanticipated problem (our adult cat never did this as a kitten). Since these pieces are larger than a kitten kibble, I expect the results would be consistent for others who may have the same issue regarding kittens and So we just added a new kitten to our household, and while he had no problem finding the box, he wanted to voraciously eat the fine clumping litter we normally use with our adult cat (which is strange because he wants nothing to do with kibbled food yet, but I digress). Cats did not like
By cv919 on Dec 18, 2020 Top 500 Contributor
I got this to try because Chewy stopped selling Cats Pride the regular kind. Anyways they did not like this. And didn't control odor at all. I like that.it's not clay but looks like rabbit food pellets.

Not the best, not the worst
By Bella on Sep 25, 2020
I wasn’t a fan of the other paper pellet litter from this brand. I like this one better, it’s much softer on my 4 month old kittens paws. The issue I have with this litter is that it gets stuck in my 2 year old Oriental Shorthairs paws. It doesn’t cover the smell of urine and feces at all. I do prefer this over pine pellet litter. It’s not as much work as pine pellet litter, especially if you have multiple cats. Pros: 1. Affordable. 2. Very soft, would recommend for post-op cats or older cats/kittens. 3. Has no dust unlike traditional clay litter. Cons: 1. Small (might be an issue for kittens who like to eat litter, and the small size of the litter is the reason it gets stuck so easily I wasn’t a fan of the other paper pellet litter from this brand. This is unscented, but usually even with unscented litters I can’t smell my cats urine. I would recommend a scented paper litter if you dislike the smell of cat urine. Although not my favorite, I would buy this litter again. My cats don’t mind it and it’s very cost effective. I might try a scented version next time. Recommendations: -A stainless steel litter pan would work most efficiently with this litter because of how much moisture this litter holds. With plastic boxes, I see a lot of residue building up in the cracks and crevices of the box which will definitely contribute to odor in the future. … more
